Here's pics of me when I started training more or less.

As you can see I've made very slow progress in the first few years ,slow progress is better than no progress but it could of been alot quicker .

I've made 100s of mistakes ,wasted loads of time because I knew no better .

I'm proud of them mistakes because I feel it will help me become a better personal trainer to help my clients get better results faster .

There's a good quote : 'the master has made more mistakes than the beginner has tried' ,

I'm not saying I'm a master because im not but i am learning all the time and will continue to learn as long as I am coaching clients.

When I first went to the gym I never intended on been a personal trainer it just sort of came upon me with time ,but I always wanted to help people .

I'm not the biggest the strongest or the best , I've wanted to give up more than anyone else both in training and work but I've always won the battle in me head to not give up.

The basic principles of training...
.
If you don’t put the effort in, nothing will really happen. So that’s the foundation of any training programme / exercise regime.
.
Then there is progression. Over a period of time you must be getting stronger, quicker, able to travel further, how ever you measure, there must be improvements if you want to change from how you are.
.
Then there’s compounds. Based on someone wanting to change the way they look, fat loss and tone, you must hit the big muscle groups. No point training arms and doing side raises if you have limited time and are not looking to build a physique but rather just fat loss and tone. More bang for your buck from compounds.
.
Then there’s how much you do. If you put in the effort and are progressing, any sets and reps are ok but you can get specific. But no point without the first three.
.
Then isolations. The cherry on top. The bit you can do once you hit a certain level. Training arms, abs etc. Doing exercises that only work one muscle.
.
There are other things that could go on this list like rest periods, periodisation etc but wanted to keep it very basic.
.
Unsure? Work hard and aim to get better and you’ll probably win.

Because pull ups make you feel strong af 🤓🏋🏽‍♀️💁🏽.

Here are 4 pull up progressions , to progress and work towards doing unassisted pull ups 🏋🏽‍♀️🐒.
.
1. First demo is unassisted pull ups. Ensuring I am extending my arms down completely during the eccentric movement ( the way down) and retracting my lats and shoulders during the concentric movement. ( coming up).
.
2. Next demo is pull ups assisted with a band. Same as the above, but using a band, which you can place your foot in, which will take away some resistance and assist with your pull ups. You can start with thicker bands, and progress by using thinner bands.
.
3. Isometric holds, with assistance with a box. ( of red chair lol ). Purpose of these are to force you to recruit the muscles used in pull ups to hold your weight up. Which will then make unassisted pull ups much easier! You can start by holding for 1-3 seconds, and progress by increasing the time held.
.
4. Fourth demonstration is inverted row. Inverted rows are a great starting point to work towards doing pull ups. You can progress inverted rows by having legs bent, to straight, as well as how far you are to the ground, the lower you are the more added resistance and more muscle recruitment is needed. . .
The key to progressing your pull ups is just like anything, being consistent, not giving up, and making progress over time 🏋🏽‍♀️😅.

Ingredients:
2 large bananas
3 egg whites
60g of the @pipandnut chocolate hazelnut butter
60g chocolate whey
30g coco powder
Pinch of baking powder
50g chocolate chips
15g coconut flour
BLEND all of the above and bake in a brownie tin for 15 mins @180.

For the glaze:
2-3 tbsp icing sugar
1 tbsp peanut flour
Water to texture
DRIZZLE on top 😛

Calories per 1/16th - 83 calories, 3.8g Fat, 7g Carbs, 6g Protein 👌🏻

This is NOT a “one diet is better than the other” post, it’s just me explaining to you WHY you experience faster WEIGHT loss when approaching a keto diet (in the first weeks) compared to a high/higher carb one.

It’s pretty simple: what makes Keto so wonderful and money making (for the coaches who promote it) is the fast initial weight loss related to the carbohydrate reduction. Each gram of carbs retains 2.4-3g of water per actual gram of carb, so reducing carbohydrate intake results in a drop in bodyweight. Chillax though, it’s just water: you’re just as fat as you were before, but because you’ve reduced your carb intake, you’re simply NOT retaining as much water as you previously did. However, you see your weight go down so quick so you’re placebo-ly happy.

Quite infact FAT LOSS is THE SAME, let me say it again: FAT LOSS IS THE SAME for both diets, and this is WHY there’s difference between saying “weight” and “fat” loss, fellas. -

Coach @simonejanearthur is coming along for the ride to make sure our athletes are properly fuelled and are getting all the nutrition their bodies need! Her focus will be on getting calorie dense snacks in between events, and then eating a balanced meal at the start & end of the day. Making sure electrolytes are replaced after they’re lost in sweat is also a focus . .

This looks so complicated, but all it is are my egg white oats (#8 on the breakfast menu - and under 300 calories!) which were already prepped, and topped with a sliced persimmon and some special beetroot infused chocolate!
