Stay Top-of-Mind and NOT Be a Flake
I was thinking about how hard it really is to balance work and life all the time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been working so hard on this restructure of my business model. I'm all lit up about the fact that clients are busting through walls and experiencing transformations.
I’m so focused on what is going on in my business, that I kinda am prone to getting sucked into twilight zone over here in this little countryside abode.
And now, it’s halfway through summer and I haven’t seen my family or friends nearly enough.
But, I have the best, most patient friend in the WORLD because no matter what, she persists. She keeps calling and messaging me and doesn’t let me get so sucked in that we lose touch.
And I DESPERATELY need that.
Well, guess what? Business is a LOT like that as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I spoke very early this year with a coach I’ve been wanting to work with. She is PERFECT for me.
But, the problem is that I keep putting it off. I get distracted. I focus on other things. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Part of it is totally mindset. The thought of committing to a long term relationship terrifies me, especially with someone who I KNOW will peel back those layers I desperately hold onto. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BUT, most of it is also that it’s really easy to get in the groove, become so focused on something, and lose sight of your goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So easy in fact, that time actually seems to be moving at lightning speed and one day you wake up and realize you haven’t followed up on something you were planning to do (like paying to get your ass kicked) in like, I dunno, 6 months…
The people who need YOUR services are probably going through the SAME THING. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, stay connected. Follow up. Keep reminding them of how bad they need you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s not salesy BS. It’s letting them know that you are still there for them, no matter how sidetracked, busy, or out of touch they get.
