rest days & why are they so important?
personally i never use to rest, i always worked out 7 days a week and sometimes even 2 times a day and i wasn't seeing the results, i over trained constantly and pushed myself in every workout. Now, i make sure i always have a rest day sometimes even 2 a week. On my rest days i honestly just rest, i don't even think about the gym or cardio. Resting is just as important, even more important to be honest. Working out especially resistance training breaks your body tissues down so when you have a rest day it allows your muscles, bones, nervous and connective tissue to rebuild. when i rest my nutrition changes as well, i tend to have higher protein then carbohydrates but on training days i have higher carbohydrates. Personally that's what suits my body better. Hope that helps some of you girls and boys who don't think rest is 'important' Xx
also, tomorrow is Monday! new week, new goals! go out and smash them!
