As you can probably guess, there are two different kinds of sweet!! I don’t know about you guys, but I have a SERIOUS sweet tooth that can sometimes get in the way of me reaching my goals!! Here is a cheat cheat on what your body needs when it is craving these five categories of food
SUGAR: Your body is likely lacking in phosphorus, carbon, chromium, sulfur, and Tryptophan. To fix this, eat one of these healthier options!: broccoli, fresh fruit, chicken, sweet potatoes (personal fav), spinach, cranberries
CARBS (bread, pasta etc.): Your body is lacking: nitrogen. Try eating: things high in protein! (Meat, fish, chia seeds) :
SALT: Your body is lacking silicon and chloride. This can be fixed by eating: cashews, nuts, fish, and seed based products
OIL: You need calcium!! Try eating: green leafy veggies, Greek yogurt
CHOCOLATE: (saved the best for last) Your body is lacking: Magnesium!! Try eating: veggies, fruit, nuts/seeds. I also take a supplement of Mg before bed every night because it’s really good for your overall joint health and works to prevent injury. :
ALSO just a little fun fact, it is actually GOOD FOR YOU to indulge every once in a while. I know people always say this and it’s difficult to believe, but when you are constantly living a certain way, your body NEEDS a switch up. Eating something sweet, fatty, and delicious every once in a while has shown to actually REBOOT your metabolism. So once every few months or so if you feel like you are platoeing, TAKE A CHEAT DAY!! I have experienced great results from doing so, and it’s important to just enjoy and indulge sometimes. I hope this helps!!
