Malcom Gladwell talked about the 10,000 hour rule to master a skill. Well, I’ve eaten at well over 10,000 restaurants in this lifetime; if that counts for anything. Everything I’ve set my mind to, I’ve always gone full force. This is how I’ve been able to stay on top of my game. Before going into the restaurant industry, food was just a hobby.
Eating was a way for me to have a new adventure every single day. I rarely choose to eat at the same restaurant twice. Food was way to connect with my sister as she was the food expert of my family, and early on I was sharing content for the IMKING clothing blog.
It became apart of my lifestyle. My story. I became the go-to person for people to decide where to eat at. I turned my yelp writing reviews into a game. The more places I tried , the more ideas kept brewing. Through this journey I’ve learned about different types of cuisine, service, operations, design, layout, etc. I’ve eaten at the top restaurants in the world, to the hole in the wall gems that I can’t stop talking about.
Been doing this for over 10 years now. Through food it’s opened doors for me in business, relationships, skill-building, etc.. I believe I’ve accomplished my purpose of eating out as a way to bring people together, breaking people out of their comfort zones, and making it a adventure for everyone. To the next 10,000 restaurants I discover, I hope to discover gems to share with others, learn how to better my restaurants, and keep myself open minded about other culture. So where are we eating next?
