Apologies for the delay in the update on Chance. I'll still be delayed a few more days, unfortunately. 😕
In the meantime, most of you may not know that, the night before we unfortunately lost Chance, we took on two tiny foster kittens who had been saved from death row at the Rockhampton pound.
Miss 9.5 chose and named this beautiful grey one "Adventure."
As dog people :) this kitten was a great cat for us as she was a perfect balance of playfulness and affection.
I had already visualised harness/leash training her, should we decide to adopt her ourselves. 😬
Unfortunately, Adventure showed a bit too much interest in Chance (NOTHING to do with him getting lost, they were nowhere near him when that happened). She immediately went into a pounce position and wanted to chase his tail. Although it was obvious she only wanted to play with him, unfortunately, that was dangerous enough for a small cockatiel. 😔
So, we decided Adventure, much to Miss 9.5's (and hubby's and well, the family's, disappointment) had to go to another foster family.
Adventure's adoption profile has recently gone up on the rescue group's page. 😔
We are dearly hoping someone we know might adopt this extra special little kitten.
It took only three days for her to train us 🙄😄 and, as the profile states (written by her current foster family with some input from us when they picked her up), she certainly does seem to know how to pick up moods.
Hubby, in particular, was fast becoming attached and we all wish we could have kept her. 😔
It is possible she may have been ok with Chance (since she only wanted to play) and, trust me, if we were going to have a cat (if we didn't own a bird first), she would have been our first pick. However, sadly, we saw it as too risky. 😢 (We still have the second foster kitten who is younger).
My point is, if anyone is considering a kitten, Adventure is great with kids and dogs (Blaze was scared of her after she hissed at him the first time lol, but then they became friends).
We hope, whoever the lucky person is who gets to keep Adventure forever, they start an Instagram page so we can follow her life. We miss her so much already. 💔
