I'm so tired, but I wanted to post some more artwork that I'll be selling at my tent this weekend with @anenergeticaffair
I've loved the process of finding the perfect frame for each painting. Sometimes they match so perfectly, it's like they were just waiting to be put together! I mean seriously...how often do you find a concrete frame with an iridescent finish?! I also think I'm ready to let go of alot of my work from earlier this year. When I make things with a person in mind, for a themed show, or as a commission, it's really easy to let my artwork go. When I am just making things at home though, and creating more from my imagination or experimenting with my style, it's easier for me to get attached. A lot of the work I'm bringing I'd become really connected to. I felt like I was growing a lot personally, as well as finding a style that was much more 'ME' when I was painting them. It's been just a few months, but alot has happened. I feel like I'm still finding my style, but I'm getting closer and my skills are becoming more refined because of it. I need clear space to expand, mentally and physically.
So as the saying goes, out with the old and in with the new. If I want to be a professional artist, I need to be able to detach myself from work that means a lot in the moment, so other people can take it away and I can make something new. It's all a part of the process.
