Où est la plage? Something that you’ll hear often in Guadeloupe, as it’s a French territory on a tropical island. It’s not well-known to Americans yet, and is a testament to the French culture. You can expect European hospitality, gourmet food, and a diverse mix of languages while surrounded by palm trees, colorful architecture, and lots of rum. There is also a Creole influence on the cuisine, which means that alongside traditional French dishes, fresh French bread, and cheese, there are specialties like accras (a delish fried ball filled with seafood) or curry. And any location where you can find equally high-quality wine or rum is a win in my book!
