A humble little video with a lot of meaning. 🤗 This is one of the first #MovementLibrary videos we shot at @sharedspacehk.
It meant moving away from a singular focus on fancy and impressive clips and moving towards showing more of what can provide insight and ideas towards moving better, moving simply, moving with joy.
I practice and teach not to teach or perform tricks, I teach because I know it has meaning for us to feel confident in our body.
There is definitely something primal to it, feeling capable to stand your ground, the body-mind functioning with a reliable, calming level of precision.
And while that sounds all fancy and fun (to me at least! 😜🤗) I think nothing is harder than to take a different step from what we’re used to, however healthy, helpful or empowering it may be. @officialdrjoedispenza says “The hardest part about change is not making the same choices you made the day before.” So one of the things @clarelim and I committed to is sharing simple ideas via MovementLibrary (you can find them on @sharedspacehk IGTV), ideas so simple, that it’s almost harder to not do/try them. :)) Here is to the squat. What is your relationship to ‘simple’ movements like the squat? 😊 Hate/Love/AllTheTime/Boring?
