Okay so I guess its about time I told you a bit about my panoramaxx, quite a few of you have been asking about it
The first thing that struck me with it was the actual shape of the viewing lens, rather than just the standard rectangle you usually get, it's more like a pair of goggles, giving you as much visibility as possible where it is most needed, which is fantastic! Using this mask after others feels like you've had blinkers taken off and can see so much more, and combined with the 2.5 shade it's so easy to do things without removing the mask.
The next thing I noticed, or rather almost kind of didn't as it was so good, was how the autoshade adjusts itself so well! I've only used it for tig so far so I'm yet to see what it is like with other processes, but even when running a foot pedal you can see it adjusting itself. The shade can be light enough for you to see arcing up on high frequency, then darkens as you increase the amps. You can also set a +/-2 preference to the autoshade, or you have the option of aetting it manually. It also has a twilight and tack mode too, which I would like to play around with a bit more as they seem cool.
BUT ONE OF MY FAVOURITE GODDAMN THINGS EVER.... is the grind mode. A simple little button that is easy to find on the outside to switch it on and off, and when on a little blue light flashes on the outside, but this reflects inside the lens as you're using the mask to remind you that it is on, without being too distracting. No more arcing up and blinding yourself in grind mode EVER AGAIN!
I will post up some more about it when I've used it a bit more. But I want to know:
What do you guys think? What do you want to know or see about it? Drop me a comment below and let me know, and I'll do my best to answer
