There are situations and objects, in life, that test you . They'll propel you to the brink of relinquishment or advancement.
I took on this commission with the goal to make back the money I had stolen from me working Mother's Day evening, serving other families and their mothers. It was a good night, a night worth working. My server book, containing my tips, was stolen later that night as soon as I turned my back from it.
I'm not sharing this story with an expectation of pity or reimbursement from anyone. I'm sharing to explain simply that things will be taken from you, your entire life; whether it's your time, your energy, money, even your body and it's contents. It is crucial to our mentality and well-being, that we accept these circumstances as a lesson, and treat them as a challenge to better ourselves. We must keep progressing and continue working on overcoming life's hurdles. Oftentimes we cannot recover what has been taken, we can only do better without that, "thing." That is strength.
And to the person who took what wasn't theirs...
I feel sorry for those you surround yourself with; their time and energy spent amidst and for you, with an unbeknownst hint that you are a thief and if only they knew, would then associate you as a someone who has not earned what they own in life, but who has achieved to take from people. Your greed will never make you respected, tolerable, nor successful.
