The kids are entertained they say,
That only means one thing,
Let's go... We're here, we look that badass you're glad we are just hitting the air, we sweat, we glow, we are there for the same reason... To stay sane from the kids!
Seriously though, not all workouts are about a measurement. That time to jump kick is mine. Watch my game face, it says it all! That's not selfish, it makes a big difference to my mood and wellbeing. Not just me, because it's backed up by lots of research (But like I need an excuse to prance around!) Even ten minutes can make a difference, but let's not tell the kids that all at once, or we would never get the other 50 minutes done... Not only a great workout, it's also that little bit of being social and being real. Not discussing if there's an ostrich under the bridge, (Nobody saw me on the bridge actually looking right??) or getting in practical experience for when I decide to apply to work with the UN as a peace treaty negotiater. The reality that we aren't all making perfect selfie or family smiley pics every day during the holidays. That life does and can get in the way of your own fitness journey. Yes we can admit to needing our own space and that doesn't make us awful parents or people. But most of all, we left sweaty and smiling, a great big oxymoron achievement in it's own right!
