It’s great to see such a positive response to the stamps, and heartening to know that people genuinely want to help bees survive.
One of the best ways to help is to leave an area of long grass in the garden where the wildflowers such as daisies, clover, buttercups and dandelions can grow. One of the biggest factors in the decline in our bees is habitat loss... we have simply become too obsessed with tidying up our green spaces. Long grass provides a nesting area for bees, many of whom make their homes in the ground. The wildflowers are rich in pollen and nectar, a vital food source. Even if it’s a strip 30cm wide at the back of the garden or on the roadside verge, it can make a difference.
Personally I think there is a beauty in our wildflowers and really wanted to show that on the minisheet. We can make a difference
