Gobi manchurian, butter chicken, chana masala, rice, & garlic naan from @bollywoodfresno! I was so excited to try everything I didn't notice I cut the samosas out of frame. 🤣🙈 With "street food" in the name of the restaurant I expected skewers and small portions but was pleasantly surprised to see Bollywood's extensive menu and generous portions!
Worth mentioning at length are the samosas and gobi manchurian. The samosas were so incredibly crispy on the outside yet densely packed with well-prepared filling, I don't know how Bollywood accomplished it but it's pure culinary magic in my opinion. Which brings me to the gobi manchurian. It's marked on the menu with a cute little pepper which you'd think just means "delicate palates beware" but let me tell you, this could make the most seasoned of spicy food veterans sweat in the BEST way possible! It's steamed cauliflower bathed in a lovely red, almost sticky sauce that I'm confident will convince anyone that a vegetable-based entree doesn't have to be boring!
And for dessert! *not pictured* This was my first time trying an Indian dessert so if anyone reading this needs to correct my description feel free. Of the handful of choices I went with rasmalai which was two discs of chena (curdled milk, basically a cheese) in a delicately sweet milk sauce that I swear had a hint of rose water! I thoroughly enjoyed this balanced dessert after such a flavorful dinner but I could have dome with a little more spice or possibly a garnish of pistachios. #FresnoFriday #fresno #fresyes #eatlocal #belocal #buylocal #BollywoodFresno #Indianfood #gobimanchurian #butterchicken #chanamasala #rice #garlicnaan #samosas #chena #rasmalai
