I will never forget the time when my father stopped a truck that was pulling out from behind our horse ranch. My father asked the men why they were trespassing and they replied with a thick french accent "we are hunting snow geese" . My father, being a fellow hunter, chuckled and asked how many they got. (Knowing that it wasn't really the season for them )
One of the men got out of the truck, pulled back the tarp and proudly said "so many we will eat for months". We looked over and could not contain our laughter; the men had shot over 20 seagulls!! My father explained to them what they actually shot but the men kept insisting that they were snow geese. So my dad kindly asked them to leave and to never come on our property again.
