When I was down last our farrier made an interesting comment on Cash and his demeanor - he said, (and I'm paraphrasing) 'This horse is so indifferent. He's not particularly cuddly or smoochy. He doesn't help me work by making it any easier, but he doesn't hinder me either. He just let's it happen.'
Cash proved his point by standing mostly quietly to be shoed, and slowly fidgeting towards a nearby pile of poo for the farrier to stand in. 😂
I thought it was an interesting insight, and it got me wondering about the kind of horse Cash is. Even now, I'm not sure how I would describe him.
He can be very brave with new things, though he is most comfortable with what's familiar. He can be anxious, but what worries him sometimes won't worry him at other times. Otherwise he is placid, and generally pretty calm. I have to agree that he isn't super cuddly 😂 though he does walk up to me in the paddock most of the time so he must like me at least a little! 🙊
What words would you use to best describe your horse? .
