When you lead a busy lifestyle, it can be easy to run out of time in the morning to pack a healthy lunch and decide on buying lunch at work/school.
However, most of this time, this means you have TWO pretty SHITTY options when that lunch-time hunger hits:
1. Buy the much cheaper “junk food” option that’ll make you feel hungry and tired again in a couple hrs
2. Spend a TON MORE for a healthy alternative, which you could’ve gotten for MUCH CHEAPER from the supermarket .
Unfortunately, it kinda sucks that this is the way society is. And whilst you might LIKE to think you’d get the healthy option still, we aren’t all rolling around in money and thinking about spending unnecessary $$ can be really stressful. .
Nevertheless, although the discrepancy between prices is STUPID, there are some ways that you can still eat healthy on a budget.
For example, try to plan your weeks groceries in advance and meal prep on a Sunday so you don’t have to buy food whilst out during the week.
Buy LOCAL, SEASONAL produce, which will be cheaper than imported.
But frozen items that keep well in BULK.
Look for sales at different supermarkets and shop accordingly.
MAKE TIME on the weekend to meal prep! .

spent a lot of time sitting in the grass under the sun today. i’ve been doing a lot of prep work for my upcoming job — buying scrubs & shoes and things that will hopefully help me sleep during the day & stay healthy: blackout curtains, white noise machine, vitamin d supplements... and i realized that if i really want to be healthy i need some more fundamental changes. staying hydrated, exercising regularly, and cutting out the emotional junk-eating. so i’m aiming to use this opportunity as a major lifestyle overhaul. time to write some SMART goals and dive in.

OK this is going to be long and very personal so if you don't want to read just keep scrolling.
This is me. 3 years ago that was me. I was killing myself. Food and depression were sucking the life out of me. I had replaced an addiction of alcohol with an addiction to food. I was so miserable in all aspects of my life. My marriage was suffering. My kids were sad because I never participated with them. My hair was thinning due to a major hormonal imbalance due to my weight. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and prescribed medicine I was going to have to take everyday. I was at the bottom of the barrel mentally. I was having severe depression and panic attacks and was medicated for it. I wanted to change but I was so scared.
What was I scared of? Failing mostly. But I wanted to not feel bad anymore.
That's when I was introduced to Beachbody. I was very skeptical. What was holding me back? Mostly the cost. I was trying to justify spending $160 for a year of the program and a month of the shake. And then I started calling gyms and asking about their monthly cost. And I started pricing protein shakes and what ingredients were in them. And I came to a really easy conclusion. BeachBody was a no brainer. I was getting so much for such a small amount of money. So I took the leap. I signed up. I was excited but mostly scared.
Man if I even knew how much that $160 was going to change my entire life I wouldn't have believed it. I would have laughed!
Here's the thing, if I would have made excuses for not trying it I would probably still be 215 lbs. I would still be miserable or I may not be here at all. It's harsh but true.
So here's the bottom line
YOUR HEALTH MATTERS. YOU MATTER. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE MISERABLE ANYMORE. STOP MAKE EXCUSES. STOP BEING AFRAID TO CHANGE.
When is enough enough?
Are you tired. Tired of putting on that happy face and pretending you are ok?
Stop believing the lies that you can't do it. You can.

**BTW THIS IS AN OLD PICTURE** Wanting to be "perfect" 😐
When I am a "fitness instagrammer", I always worry about people who see me on instagram.
Why do we worry so much about what other people think of us? Constantly feeling insecure and stressed about "not looking good enough". But it will never be "good enough" if you aren't happy with the way you are now. You'll never be happy and comfortable with how your body looks if you aren't comfortable with natural things, like tummy fat, cellulite, stretch marks, etc. Because these are normal things that don't just disappear.
So we shouldn't be ashamed of them. We shouldn't be worried about what people think of them because there is nothing wrong with having them. We need to embrace them, stop feeling insecure about them and wasting your time and energy about things that are completely natural! We need to focus on loving our bodies for the things they allow us to do. Don't take your body for granted and stress about small things that are normal! You are incredible the way you are.

One of the things I LOVE about yoga is that (if you want to) you can try new things every day. I had no idea I could do a full crow pose with just one supporting leg & it was the coolest surprise when I gave it a go... ‘ta daaaa’, it happened! You may, or may not have noticed that I can get bored quite easily, & in yoga I’ve finally found something I can NEVER get bored of 😀 Whatever it is, there’s always something you can experiement with, work on, or a new achievement to celebrate... And those “I didn’t know I could do that” moments are, quite simply, a hell of a lot of fun 😉 .

There’s nothing special about a the “push to pull” ratio in a training program as far as how it influences shoulder pain, injuries, or performance. Anyone claiming it does- citations desperately needed. For clarity, ALL muscles in your body pull. All of them. Through an array of bony levers and sinewy pennation we can “push” objects in our environment, but our muscles are still pulling.

That said, if you want a strong back you’re going to need to train it. Deadlifts, rows, pull ups, and pull downs will get the job done. Nothing fancy, y’all.

Seen here is the 1 arm row. I do these on one of my GPP days for as many sets of 12-15 reps as possible. Today I did 120 reps per arm in 7 minutes with the 100’s. That was fun. Finished up with some prowler walks and strict toes to bar before calling it a day.

I don't do it beacause I have to. I do it because it makes ME feel Good!
This side hustle of mine was not something I felt like I had to do. We weren't broke, I already have a full time job as a dental hygienist that I love (most days 😉). It was almost as of I was drawn to it! It was something I just couldn't get off my brain. I thought about it for months before I actually signed up and I thank God that he pointed me in the right direction!🙏 I really could not imagine not doing this.

Can I just take a minute to talk about transformations!! Check out my girl Laura! She rocked her 80 days and got such awesome results!
