Dear people of the world wide web,
I read the most interesting thing yesterday and the title of the article said "winning a yoga race" this caught my eye. The piece continued to start by saying "do you feel like you're falling behind where there is no actual race?" I just stopped reading at that point, I was like damn. I've done that, sometimes still do it, and a lot of people do it all the time.
We end up putting some weird pressure on ourselves for certain things for no reason. There are some things that are a "yoga race" where you are in no competition with nobody but yourself. But this happens because things like societal norms (stuff like finishing school in 4 years) is important, even though your personal learning is more important and may take 5 years.
It makes no sense to put pressure on ourselves during a yoga race. Go at your own pace, as long as you're moving forward everyday that's all that matters. time to start my day. - Mo
