Getting back to nature at the adult forest school🌳😊 We were shown the best way to light fires and how to whittle wood to make musical instruments and wands.

When we take the time, everything else falls into place.

Once upon a time, I would never have done this.

I wouldn't have had 'time'... To spend on myself... To slow down... To take care of me... To go to the beach... To have a mummy mindset reset... And even believe that slowing down would have been better for me.

But it has been.

It's been a game changer.

So today was gorgeous. 72f, cool breeze, low humidity and the sun came out. So I took a much needed couple hours off and went to a local park.

I wound up walking one of the nature trails and took some pics with my DSLR and just had some time with myself.

I had the joy of going for some walks in the coulees with the doggo this weekend while the ‘rents and the husband were out of town. It was so nice to get out, but it was also a (harsh) reminder of what I’ve been dealing with for so long. My outdoor (lets be honest and indoor) activities have been at a halt for awhile now. No physical activities, lack of mountain time which has lead to weight gain and depression; which is then a huge cycle. Today I got some decent news! Come July (hopefully!) I’ll be able to truly begin my knee recovery and get back to feeling good and enjoying my mountains the way I like to. Grateful for feeling I’m right where I’m suppose to be. It’s like this deep stability and fortress of safety and calm inside. Not always, but I built a foundation. No matter what happens in my external world, it’s easier to come back to ME. I wish I told my old self 3 years ago to not cry as much because everything will be better than those last moments in corporate America.

Wishing you all deep stability within yourself and keep grounded in these high intensity times in the world: politics, climate change, fires in CA, teenage suicide rates highest since 1960, lots of retail going out of business, recession forecasted coming next year etc etc.
