Oh hey hey girlfriend. I see you, scrolling on Instagram, looking at all the other girls you follow who seem to “have it all together”. Whose lives “seem” perfect, and so you’re making excuses for why you can’t have what she has or do what she does.
“She’s prettier than I am”
“If I only lived where she lives"
“She’s so much younger than I am”
“She’s so talented”
“She doesn’t struggle with what I struggle with"
Well, you know what? These little squares do not tell the whole story. And you know what else? The excuse about why she has something that you don’t… well, I hate to break it to you, but that’s a cop out. It’s your way of making yourself feel better for not even trying. And I get it, because I've done the same thing before.
We are all imperfect and flawed. We all have our good days and our bad days. But at the end of the day, you have to take ownership of your life. You have to do the hard things. You have to get out of your comfort zone. You have to stop making excuses.
You have to just do it. It might be messy. It might not be pretty. And yes, you might fail. But you will get up again and you will do it better the next time. And eventually you will succeed because you kept trying. Because you finally believed in yourself.
I know it’s scary. But what’s scarier is staying right where you are, and then having regret later for not even trying. So just GO FOR IT. I promise, you’ll figure it out along the way.
