The sign from this picture by 📷@angelascozyhome reminds me of a hard won lesson that I've learned over my life - You're your BEST when you're being YOU!
For example, as I sit hear and listen to the rain, it's well past midnight and my creative juices are just flowin.
As much as I hate to admit it, I'm a night owl. Always have been, always will be.
In the past, I've tried to fit the mold to be an early riser. We're told so often that you can ONLY be productive, healthy, and happy if you wake up super early. And let's face it, it's hard not to feel like a bum when you wake up after 11am.
While I definitely love watching a beautiful sunrise and often feel super productive when I get my day started early, I've found that my creativity (which is my most prized part of myself) leaves me whenever I force myself to be 'normal' and abandon my natural sleep cycle.
But when I listen to myself and my body (sleeping when I'm tired, waking when I'm rested) that's when the magic happens. I'm suddenly more productive, happy, and creative.
And that's MY kind of beautiful.
