The past few weeks I’ve gone a little too hard with my training. I didn’t realize until I checked in with my coach; I was getting so excited with my new leverages, I changed too many variables at once.
After prep, my sets increased from 3 to 3-5. What I hadn’t realized (until I felt it): not only are my sets increasing ... so are my loads... and my reps. We just goin UP UP AND AWAY!☁️🚀😂 but my body needs time to adjust. And at the end of the day, it can only handle so much.
I was getting frustrated the last time I was squatting, thinking I was backsliding, when really I was just not recovered. I didn’t take into consideration every other movement shooting up, in turn, placing more of a demand on my body.
This week I’m challenging myself to stop at 3-4 sets on everything. I know recovery will be much better. It’s all about knowing when to push, when to hold back. Something I preach all the time - yet when you’re an iron junky, easier said than done!😜
Patience, patience, patience ...
This ain’t a sprint!
