I've always wondered, when seeing some old paintings at a museum for instance, why the date(s) shown for when the painting was made sometimes span many years. In my realm that's usually not the case, each piece is made within a certain year. But this piece is an exception. It was blown and wheel-carved first in 2013, then sat on a shelf for a few years because I wasn't really satisfied with it at that point. So a lot of time passed until I decided to revisit this one, carving away even more of the black exterior and then asking my assistant @dillon.stoltenburg to do some creative carving on the surface of what black glass remained, for additional visual and tactile interest. I think I finally really like this one and it's now going to be available for purchase. "Introverre," 2013-2018. Thanks as always to @photobytoto for the pic !
