Getting rid of the top shots
Mike got into a bad topping/thinning habit. The fault in the before swing was going too steep on the takeaway of the club and then getting caught too much on the inside on the downswing. All he was able to do from this was flick at the ball. (1st video)
We worked on getting Mike to hit what he felt was an out-to-in swing path. Almost trying to hit baby fades. (2nd video)
The before pictures (left) shows how steep he took the club and how much he dipped on the inside on the downswing. The after pictures (right) show a better takeaway of the club and he is now able to swing through impact instead getting caught on the inside.
Teaching an old dog new tricks can be done after all

Worked with super talented @melissasiviter on her pitching motion yesterday. She had been struggling with consistent contact and ground interaction. We changed her setup to have the center of her body (chest and belt buckle) more in front of the golf ball to move the low point of the swing arc more in front of ball. From there we then worked on her release to make sure she didn’t have too much shaft lean which helped her to use the bounce better. These are the two MAJOR fundamentals I work on with good players. If you can control your low point of the arc and know how to use the bounce you will start making it from everywhere just like Melissa did. This is a drill we were working on. In the real motion there would be more rotation and pivot involved #shortgameseries

Young or old, you can create new muscle memory with perfect practice. Ride the rail for only 15 minutes, 3x a week and you will experience confidence and results! 60-Day back guarantee.
There’s no denying it, you need to get open/rotated as you approach impact. These greats all do it. The clubface and the mass of the club need to be in order on the way down to enable proper rotation through the strike. #andrewricegolf#golflesson#golfschool
Test sleeve of the new @taylormadegolf Project (a) golf balls arrived through the post today. Looking forward to giving them a go. Used a few Taylormade balls in the past but never tried the Project (a)
A special experience @rioseccogolfclub as you journey to the second hole! It has you climb uphill to an elevated tee box which descends into a picturesque canyon fairway. .
The series carries on with a favorite layout wise and it would be one to remember. So here it goes...Matt invites me out to Rio Secco and I adjust my res at a private gem for him to show me up with a chip in! It made my flush 2nd shot from the fairway look like notin. I’m teasing, this hole rocked and it was a great memory!
I am a huge fan of a downwind tee shot into a canyon. It gives you the chance to hit your longest ball. What’s your longest Drive? Comment below!
First off I wanted to say thank you to all of you for the tremendous support on my "hater" post. That was very very cool and I appreciate you all so much!
Now, for the UPDATE! As you might know, I have been working with dad in the house for the past month or so on my release. Countless swings in order to get some control of it post impact.
Well, today dad felt I was ready to test this work. He asked me to try and hit a cut that started a few yards left of the flag, then drifted back over. Something I just could not do before today.
