It’s been a long day. The mind is frazzled, the body is aching, the eyes are tired. What is the one thing in the world that can bring totally relaxation to all three. That warm tingling feeling as your bare body first touches the water. It’s that tad hot but you know once your in the over all satisfaction is incredible. The warmth on your back, arms, legs and neck let you know it’s ok to take a deep breath and just stop. No one is around but you. You are the centre of the universe in this very moment. You can take it all in.
There is no better feeling then a long, warm, aromatherapy bath. Just the thought of a bath brings me so much happiness. When I was pregnant it was my ultimate relief. I worked long hours standing on a concrete floor all day so at the end of the day my body ached. I couldn’t wait to to run the bath filled with my favourite essential oils.
I was however cautious of what my skin absorbed when I was pregnant. So I only wanted the very best of everything on me. Not being satisfied with anything on the market I made my own luxurious bath salt.
I love changing my bath salt oils all the time but my current favourite recipe is:
1 cup Epsom Salt
¼ cup coconut oil
5 drops Lavender essential oil
6 drops Chamomile essential oil
2 drops Black Pepper essential oil
2 drops Rosemary essential oil
1. Combine Epsom salt, coconut oil, Lavender essential oil, and Eucalyptus essential oil.*
2. Mix ingredients together.
3. Store in container of choice.
4. Optional: Add dried lavender and/or eucalyptus botanicals,
*Any of the essential oils in this recipe can be switched out for essential oils of your choosing.
