With most of this Winters weather thankfully behind us and the days getting noticeably longer, we can now look forward to entering a period which typically has the most crystal clear waters, (up to 30+m viz) of the year. Some of the largest male shark of the year are also due to arrive soon at the Neptune Islands. These big boys often have the most personality of all the white sharks we come across, and many of these are old friends and crew favourites.
When the wind direction is favourable we can often get into some pretty shallow reefs where the sunshine lights up the bottom on our Ocean Floor Cage Dives.
In this image, the two large male great whites can be seen approaching us from behind the cover of the large rock and the schooling fish. This is typical behaviour from such ambush predators and they seem to know how to appear suddenly and unnoticed to us, even with such superb viewing conditions.
Come experience the Neptune Island Sharks first hand onboard our unique expeditions. Brand new Spring and Summer dates are listed and filling fast. Selected 2019 dates are also being listed now. For tour details & bookings: see www.rodneyfox.com.au
