7.18.18 // I'm so lucky to have such an amazing partner who has been kicking ass on the homestead all week @homesteadstrong he's been getting to all the tasks on my to-do that I just haven't found time for!
1 • these tomato babes are from our friends at @heart_and_sol_organic ! Richard banged in some bamboo posts for us to stake them up! No ripe tomatoes as of yet - but that's okay, they'll be here soon enough! August tomatoes are better than no tomatoes!
2 • due to our recent groundhog & bunny visitors richard added a gate to our garden to complete this part of our fence!
3 • richard strategically put stakes in the garden so I can move the hose around without murdering my plants!
4 • a view of the big garden! Lots of bare space to plant fall crops, my mission for this weekend will be starting transplants and direct seeding!
5 • we got a soaker hose to attach to the rain water barrel, so we could passively water some of our beds. It works okay-ish.
6 • seeds on deck two varieties of lettuce, purslane, & radish. I've also saved a lot of arugula and cilantro!
7 • the purslane plants + seeds I removed earlier. There were so many caterpillars on the plants, don't think I've seen caterpillars on purslane before. I will have TONS of seeds available! This purslane variety is the best I've ever grown
8 • These Red Vein Sorrel plants I grew from seed are looking for a new home!
9 • I finally moved my poor neglected mint plants onto the front porch so they can get daily TLC!
10 • the best alpine strawberries I've came across! I need to find a place to plant these!
