I don't want to set out on this chapter of October writing only focusing on one or two elements that make up the broader themes of October and Halloween, I want to explore as many as call to me.
And I'd be failing this task if I didn't spend some time talking about Magick. And no, that wasn't a typo you spotted. I'm going old school and exploring older meanings, folklore and tradition and concepts that might sometimes feel foreign to modern minds.
I want to get at the Magick that buries itself in plain sight and sometimes dances between modern life and mythic. And please realize when I say mythic, there are layers of meanings to that word too. At least from me anyway. Here, I mean mythic in a grander sense that is as much a vital part to our reality as anything we scientifically categorize and give an often unspoken extra kind of weight to.
Science is important, don't misunderstand, it is very important. All I'm saying is, don't forget about the primal world we come from either.
