as you all know from my weekly whole foods trips, whole foods is one of my favorite places ever! they have tons of foods, healthy and sweet treats, that i love trying! going to whole foods has really expanded my taste in foods and has opened me to many things i thought that i would never try. my list ranges weekly, but i thought i would share a couple of my essentials that i buy regularly.
1. protein bars- whole foods has a great variety of protein bars! i usually get luna bars, larabars, cliff bars, or rx bars. they have vegan bar options too. their bar section varies in protein amount, but the ones i get from here usually have 10-25 grams. whole foods usually has a sale on a type of protein bar, so it’s fun to try new things sometimes!
2. produce- whole foods has such a good selection of fruits and vegetables! i always get apples (usually honeycrisp if they have them), salad blend (i get a kind that has 5 grams of plant protein!), cherry tomatoes, bananas, multicolored potatoes (these are GREAT for roasting!), and strawberries. people think that food bought at whole foods is more expansive than other stores, but it’s really not (especially the produce)! 3. dinner- every time i go to whole foods, i buy my dinner there! i get vegan general tso’s “chicken,” asian noodles, and then i get roasted vegetables from the salad bar. they have great vegan, vegetarian, and meat options available at the deli, hot bar, and salad bar. they also have great pizza there that is located right next to the deli!
4. salad bar items- the salad bar is filled with lots of good stuff that i like to pack for my lunches! my two favorites and beet and walnut salad and chickpea salad! they have a ton of options, and you can even sample them all so you know if you like it before you buy it! the salad bar has allowed me to try tons of new foods that i never would’ve tried before and had helped me to mix up my lunches!
so, these are my weekly items, but i always get more than that! i sometimes pick up halo top ice cream if i’m running low, yogurt, fresh fish (they have amazing everything bagel seasoned salmon!), meat replacements, cheeses, coffee, and desserts! (continued below)
