So there have been a few questions about welding machine airflow and maintenance ease with the tight confined space that the welder lives in. It breathes fine, the cabinet doors remain open during use. And as far as maintenance of the welder itself, its not easy but I did add a longer drain line to the engine block to be able to drain the oil properly at an easier spot. As with anything, I had to sacrifice ease of general maintenance for a Cool look...in my opinion. My other rig was very similar but with only one cabinet on each side. This longer frame allows me the ability to have added another box on each side and to more than double my below bed storage space. The only down side i could mention is that this bed is 5" narrower than my 3500 dodge. Cab and chassis' trucks are much narrower. It crowded my layout a bit. My cross ways machine layout was very very tight. Also too, the center bed space is narrow at only 29" between the boxes. Thats ok because the only real thing that will be going in there are my folding jackstands, spare, and the crane boom. Plenty of space for a simple like me.
