GUN OF THE DAY - Nock Volley Gun. Some may recognize this seven-barreled wonder from Sharpe, but this flintlock multi-barrel was a star long before that TV series. In John Wayne's 1960 film, The Alamo, this piece was used by actor Richard Widmark as frontiersman Jim Bowie to repel attackers during the siege. Firing all seven barrels simultaneously, this shoulder arm generates a memorable amount of blackpowder smoke with recoil to match. It can be seen in our Hollywood Guns exhibition at our Fairfax, VA museum daily. Caliber: .52. Production Date: circa 1800.
