A Scoober is a great utility throw in ultimate frisbee for when you're looking to get the disc quickly up and over a defender to a teammate who is close by, for example during a zone defense.
The grip for the Scoober is the same as the Forehand - two fingers underneath the disc with the thumb squeezing on top. An easy way to get comfortable with the grip is to put your fingers in the shape of a gun, and grip the disc with your middle finger along the inside of the rim, the index finger next to it, and your thumb along the flight rings squeezing on top of the disc.
A Scoober flies similarly to a Hammer throw, with much less power, so it's intended to be used for when your teammate is close. The release angle and height will vary, but you will always want to snap your wrist to make sure there is spin on the disc.
You can either step like you're throwing a backhand, or keep your feet planted. Lead with the elbow and finish with the snap of the wrist.
