Traditionally we blame two main culprits for our fat gain.
You’d hear them being brought up in our day to day conversations...
“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙨! 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙖𝙩!”
“𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙖𝙩, 𝙛𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙖𝙩! 𝘿𝙪𝙝!”
But alas, the 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 is that any kind of food can make you fat.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗳 you were eating healthy!
What we should be concerned about firstly, is the 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 - how much we are eating.
You know that one friend who constantly snacks on almonds because it’s “healthy”, but doesn’t seem to lose weight?
Regardless of what you eat, if you’re eating more than you require for your goals, you 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 put on fat.
It’s just 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 to put on fat when you make healthier food choices - eg. whole foods vs processed foods.
Here’s are 3️⃣ reasons why:
1️⃣ Whole foods tend to be less calorie dense.
2️⃣ Whole foods keep you full longer
3️⃣ Whole foods minimises risk of nutrient deficiencies
