I was listening to a podcast and heard this quote. Regardless what you may think of Tony Robbins, he spits out a lot of gems.
This made me think how easily the following words roll off people lips or these thoughts cross their mind.... ____
Someday I'll buckle down and write that book.
Someday I'll take that trip to Bora-Bora.
Someday I'll lose these last few pounds.
Someday I'll get that promotion.
Someday I'll compete.
____ Until you get clear about what you really want and making a plan on how to get it, all you have is a wish/desire, percolating in your head.
It means nothing.
In 2007, I had thoughts of competing in figure. It wasn't until 4 years later did I get serious and got a coach, and made it on a stage in my two piece, leaner than I ever had been in my life.
In 2012, I had wanted a promotion in my job, but it wasn't until two years later did I actually do some research, put together a paper justifying my promotion, and got the nerve to bring to an executive's attention, did I get it.
In 2011, I had talked about becoming a coach to help people lose weight and become healthier. It wasn't until 2014, when I registered for a year long health coaching certification program did I make it happen.
Back in 2015, my husband and I talked about going to the Caribbean because we both had never been. This past September, we made that wish reality and flew to Aruba.
None of this would have happened had we not made it happen. Remember talk is cheap. Action trumps desire.
Someday often leads to never.
Until you make a decision on when you are going to seriously make your goals reality, you may never act. So decide what is it you want. A date you want to achieve it. Make a plan. Get some help, if necessary. Work on it until it's done.
