This short film is about one of my most favoritist charities, the Pangong Craft Center. Founded by Konchok Stobgais and @wildfibers Linda Cortright, the center not only produces some of the yummiest, most organic cashmere on the planet, it gives women a way to help support their families while also maintaining their traditional nomadic lifestyles. They get a warm place to spin and knit, adding value to the gorgeous fiber grown by the goats they raise at 15,000 feet in the High Himalayas.
You can watch the film about the center on Vimeo (the director grew up as a nomad in the same mountainous region of India).
There's also still a small amount of handspun cashmere from the center still available at wildfibersmagazine.com. And it's on sale!
