Whether you fast for the whole 72 hours with us or just for one meal, you can benefit from giving your body a break. Here are just a FEW benefits of fasting:
Lower insulin levels. Insulin is a fat storing hormone that is present and elevated when you eat - especially high carb meals. Lowering insulin allows the stored fat on our bodies to be released and used for fuel. FAT BURNING!!

I'm often asked "what can I have during a fast" OR "what can I eat during a fast". Zero calories!!! That mean's we can't eat anything because once you do, the fast is broken (break-fast). However, it is very, very important to stay well hydrated. The following are good options:
Water; flat or sparkling (unflavored)
Black coffee or tea. Try to avoid sweeteners as they can provoke an insulin spike.
Small amounts of bone broth - SMALL. Yes this will give you calories, but insignificant if you feel you need a little something, something to get you through.
Magnesium supplementation; capsules, liquid or even an Epson salt soak/bath
Salt to replenish lost electrolytes. .5 to 1 tsp throughout the day...small "pinches" on your tongue chased by a gulp of water...or just put some in your glass of water or coffee.
