In Crossfit they have certain workouts called “hero” workouts, that are named after fallen hero’s of war. One of the most well known is, named after Lt. Michael Murphy. It is a brutal workout and CrossFit’s across the country do Murph on Memorial Day. They tell you that when you are in the midst of “the suck”, think about how bad our veterans and enlisted men/women have it. That mindset really works. Amazing how when the body gets out of the comfort zone your subconscious says quit, but I kept thinking of those guys oversees who can’t quit, and suffer 10x the pain. And I got beer at the end of the workout. Many of them never get a beer again. So a toast to all the veterans and enlisted warriors that have to push through daily.
