Summer always seems to go by too quickly😭
BEST NEWS EVER: Our gym got a hip thrust machine!!!!! We have been waiting for this for a while and are soo excited😍😍 So of course we just had to do hip thrusts this morning.....
Okay I wrote that first part last night so fast forward to this morning when we actually tried this “hip thrust” machine....
Not good. It’s annoying how many machines are created based off the “average male” so the adjustments for the machine don’t ever fit us. The strap/belt lays too far up where usually the bar would be almost resting on our very upper thighs (right below hips). The straps are super uncomfortable too so we kept trying different things to help with padding: my sweatshirt, a mat rolled up, and a huge chunky pad thing😂 None of which were super successful. I also felt like my glutes were not being activated or as focused as they usually are when I’m doing hip thrusts.
I don’t like being all negative so the one thing that is better about this equipment is I can lift more weight because the initial lifting of the bar is always a struggle and I can’t seem to get past 170lbs.
Hopefully this machine will be useful/helpful to others, maybe people who want to work on form or need more support.
But for us, I think we will stick to our barbell hip thrusts w the good old bench and barbell😉💪🏼
