Facebook challenge to post a book each day that I love, with no review. Here are my 7 for IG, with a bit more detail.
Hitchhikers Guide is one of my all time favourites, and led me into reading in my teens at a time when reading was not something I was at all interested in, it appealed so much to my sense of humour and adventure.
The Beautiful Dead, I think is just a great mystery, with a dark humour, and really believable and tender human story running through it. I really like Belinda Bauer and have read a few of her books, this is one of my favourites.
Self Compassion, is a book that has really helped me through some dark times, and helped me understand myself and believe in myself more and more. A great book with a great message, I urge anyone to read it.
Gone Girl, wow! I never saw that twist coming, it was like suddenly realising I had been reading the wrong book. Completely blown away. The movie doesn’t do it justice. If you haven’t seen the movie, read the book first.
To Kill a Mocking Bird, what can I say, just a classic. Beautifully written, I felt such a connection to the characters I was drawn in from the first chapter. Go Set A Watchman isn’t as good, but the investment in the characters makes that a must read too.
Sleeping Beauties bit of a slow burn, it was well worth it though, a great social study. A real look at equality and how we take do many simple things for granted.
Last but not least Forest of Boland Light Railway. A childhood favourite, I must have read it a hundred times. Great bedtime reading for pre teens, it made me want to read.
