Happy Monday, everyone! I started Order of the Phoenix for the #harreadpotter read along on the way home from the bookstore. Now I have a headache but I think it was worth it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

🍋 So, I didn’t know this existed! This Hogwarts map is so great! None of my Harry Potter books match and this is the first of its kind on our shelves. 😻

Do you need all your books to match or do you mix and match?
My Throne of Glass collection is chaos: hardcover, paperback, ebook. 🙊

#HarreadPotter | I am experiencing Harry Potter and Hogwarts in a entirely different way now — through audiobooks! Jim Dale’s narration is so on point that I am reinvested and so happy that I decided to listen in.
.
.
I’m currently listening in to Book #3 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Are you a big fan of Harry Potter? What about the audiobook narration?

My July TBR: I’m excited about all of these!
I’ll be reading The Assassin’s Blade (and Throne of Glass which I still need to order) this month as part of the #togbuddyread with a great bunch of booksters - I can’t wait to see how this Maas series compares to the ACOTAR series. And I’ll be reading Fangirl and Scythe (ebook) with #theneverendingtbrbookclub 👌🏻 I’m hoping to also get a start on the Order of the Phoenix to keep up with my #harreadpotter group and if I’m honest, I’d like to dive into one of the books I picked up on my wanders through the city on Saturday too...so if you check back here at the end of the month, I don’t know if this stack will look the same 🙈 but we’ll see!

Since the vast majority of my unread books are in storage back in the US, I have to develop a new goal for #theunreadshelfproject2018 - my new goal for the time we’re in Berlin is to not leave here with ANY unread books! So any books I’ve brought and any new books I buy, I need to keep up with reading them as I buy them. Is that possible..???? Stay tuned....😳🤞🏻

I hope everyone is having a good Monday. I’m stoked - a brilliant tattoo artist I follow is actually coming to Berlin in August and I’ve got a tentative session booked with him!! 🙌🏻 He’s based out of Moscow so I didn’t think I’d ever get to have him design some ink for me!
What’s a good thing that happened to you today? 💕

📚JULY TBR!

I was SO excited to pick out the books I wanted to read this month. I’ve been making really good progress reading some of my unread shelves and super-duper backlist books, so I’m stoked to keep making a dent! I picked out 17 books to read, which is kind of a lot, especially since I’ve promised myself I’d put less pressure on reading absolutely everything. But at least eight of these books are under 300 pages, which makes for totally easy weekend reads! I think I can do it? (Someone please tell me I’m not crazy)

I’m continuing with my Kurt Vonnegut reread, as well as #harreadpotter! Yeah, okay, The Order of the Phoenix has been on my TBR for three months straight...I seriously have had so much trouble willing myself to start the behemoth that is HP5. It’s so long, and it’s always been my least favorite, but maybe this will be the month. I picked two books which aren’t featured here (because I forgot about them): The Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski (Witcher #2) and Awakened by PC Cast (House of Night #8). I’m also reading three amazing choices sent to me by @dzancbooks (The Natashas, We Five, and By Light We Knew Our Names), as well as one request from my boyfriend (Yes, an autobiography by WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan). He’s been begging me to read that for literal years, so I’m looking forward to getting THAT done with, lol. AND I’M SO EXCITED TO GET INTO SOME OF THESE NEW BOOKS. Vicious, Song of Achilles, Fates & Furies...Holy heck, I’m stoked.

What are you looking forward to reading this month?

June was a fun reading month! A lot happened here on bookstagram (and I missed most of it lolol); the #botmreadathon , #grimdragon , various pride challenges, #harreadpotter - just to name a few! Here’s a pic I took for #12daysofannestagram , which is probably the most cute bookstagram challenge I’ve ever heard of. What reading challenges are you looking forward to in July? Are you setting a TBR or just winging it? I’m trying to rally thesis-wise and finish in July so for me I’m laying aside my various mood-based TBRs for thesis books (which, as they are all about historical Cleveland, suit the June #theunreadshelfproject2018 travel theme). The comic book craze is also continuing because they are so easy to mix in as quick reads between research tomes. Looking forward to another month of literary shenanigans with you all! 🤓🎉

What are the top 5 on your current TBR?
The wonderful Che @tastefortales asked - and these are mine! Granted, they only narrowly edge out all the others I packed to bring here, but they’re top priority right now. 📚🙌🏻 Hopefully I’ll have some good reading time this weekend & I’ll get to dive into one 🤞🏻

1. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I finished Six of Crows earlier in the month and have been waiting for this one to arrive! I need to know what happens next!
2. HP & the Order of the Phoenix. Continuing on my #harreadpotter journey 👌🏻 I really loved Goblet of Fire so I’m intrigued to see what happens next..! 3. The Assassin’s Blade. I’m starting a new series by @therealsjmaas - after finally reading & loving the ACOTAR series I’m all in on Queen Maas!
4. Emma. I hate to admit it, but I’ve never read this before 🙈 But I finally am going to do it!
5. Still Lives by Maria Hummel. This was one of my last @bookofthemonth choices - I need a good mystery/thriller option each month! •
Runner Up & only calling it such because I do not currently own it: I’m dying to read Vicious, by V. E. Schwab! I completely fell for the ADSOM series - it renewed my love for fantasy (& explains my latest streak) - and I’m eager to try another one by her! •

I needed to set my current read aside for a bit.
.
I’m about half way through The Book of Speculation and it’s just not keeping my attention. I could feel it pushing me into a book slump. So I decided it was time to put it down for a bit before I got sucked in.
.
It just seemed like a Harry Potter kind of day. ⚡️❤️ So I’m continuing on with my HP reread.
.
Anyone else have this series in both paperback and hardcover? 😂
.
The paperbacks are for reading and the hardcovers (and illustrated editions) are for sitting safely on the shelf. ❤️📚

Summer nights... still chugging along on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for #harreadpotter challenge. What are you reading?

4

Sometimes you just need to start the day reading a little Harry Potter in bed before you’re ready for adulting responsibilities.

10

Signs of a well-loved book. Do you have any books falling apart from reading? #harreadpotter #booksthatmakemesmile

I just finished the audiobook for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (book 2) and immediately downloaded and started book 3 on @audible. I’m loving my little revisit to this world! Normally, I binge the movies, but it’s so nice to listen to these while completing chores and running errands. Plus, there are so many details I had forgotten from the books! Are there any other books that you like to read time and time again? Also, do you have any audiobook recommendations for me?

5

I’ve gotten to the point in my #harreadpotter reading where I want to forsake all other books and just continue on with these til I finish the series! Goblet of Fire was my favorite one yet, but I can’t wait to see if they continue to get better and better with each one...🤞🏻

QOTD: Which of the HP books was your favorite? And if you haven’t read them, what’s stopping you? (No judgment, I’m just reading them for the first time this year!!)

Thank you Sarah Addison Allen and J.K. Rowling for making me crave even more sweets. I have a big sweet tooth and it’s a bit difficult to read books with characters who also likes sweets. I don’t think I would be tempted to eat a Ton-Tongue Toffee sweet from Fred and George Weasley.
🍬
🍬
If you like #HarryPotter or #MagicalRealism books I definitely recommend reading a Sarah Addison Allen book. So far my favorite is Lost Lake.
.
I just finished reading The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen and gave it 5⭐️ and a ❤️
.
It was a little different than her other books I’ve read by her. One of her characters is a sugar addict. She has a secret stash of sweets that she hides. Also every single chapter’s title is a candy (jawbreakers etc) so if you have an empty stomach, beware. I’m thankful I still have my stash of toffees I got from Knott’s Berry Farm last week while I was reading the book.

After two months I'm done! Here's a little bit of what resonated most with me in this story. I'm really excited for The Half-Blood Prince, next!
🔮
Cleaning House Black is akin to the battle with #Voldemort that lies ahead, as well as putting the past aside. Enchanted baubles, furniture, clothes, and knickknacks literally refused to be thrown out by #SiriusBlack and the #OrderOfThePhoenix. Indeed, enemies (and even painful memories, or sins) will put up a formidable fight. And both reader and writer alike will agree that the best heroes are defined by their foes, both literal and internal.
🔮
Isolation stood out as something that both #HarryPotter and Sirius battled with, both victims of their respective family's bigotries and fears. The Black Family Tree scene was probabaly my favorite as it described various connections between good and evil, history between the Order and the Dark Lord, and of course allowed Harry and Sirius to deepen their connection. I developed a deeper respect for this magical war thanks to this chapter and all who have been affected by it.
🔮
Lastly, I enjoyed watching Harry, #RonWeasley, and #HermioneGranger grow as leaders. All three were tested in a way that was true to them and it was great to see how they handled their worlds being thrown upside down. Ron was given the chance to touch glory on the Quidditch field. Harry contende with isolationist feelings in order to teach #DumbledoresArmy, even having to learn himself how to literslly guard his mind from crippling thoughts. And Hermione, stickler for rules as she is, was searching for a way to save the school even if it meant rebellion. Everyone was truly tested and I was awestruck. I hope I can one day realize my own characters against mounting odds like JK has. This book is brilliant!

13

#12daysofannestagram Day 2: if you liked Anne, you'll love... Harry Potter, of course! Anne's world feels just as magical to me as the Wizarding World, and both stories center around strong friendships and characters who are kind, loyal and see the good in the world despite overcoming difficult circumstances from a very young age. Both are total comfort reads for me (as are their movie versions 😍), and get better and better each time I read them.
.
Now, can we discuss how BEAUTIFUL the illustrated editions of HP are?? I can't get over it. And yes, that IS my Hermione Granger wand that I got at the Warner Brothers HP studio in England. I don't think I've ever nerded out so much in my life as I did that day. We had to stand on the bus ride to the studio from the train station, which was unpleasantly similar to a Knight bus trip, and yet I was the happiest car-sick person in the world 😂. Has anyone else been the the studio in the UK? Did you ALSO tear up walking through the doors into the Great Hall? ...no, just me? Sigh. It was magical.

My June reading stack is a little ambitious and let’s be honest...will extend into July, but I’m pumped to tackle some of the more dense books on my TBR now that it’s Summer break for this teacher!

11

Unpopular opinion and maybe it’s because I’m a Ravenclaw (and we didn’t win the goblet) but I did not like this book. ⠀⠀
▪️⠀⠀
A long full review on my blog, but a brief excerpt:⠀⠀
I was disappointed in a few things and there was a bit more bad than good. So far this is my least favorite in the series and I hope the others don't follow suit. I didn't enjoy that this was more about a competition involving sports than about relationships. The main characters that I had just finished learning so much about, seemed to be taking a back seat to the dozens of new characters I was overloaded with. There was romantic ties introduced and just way too many new characters all at once. I don't enjoy sports books, so that was a major turn off reading something similar to Ready Player One where contestants had to get through three challenges to win a prize. I wanted the classroom setting and to see the relationships still growing between teachers and students and to have the mystery of Hogwarts still explored.⠀ ⠀
🧙‍♂️ ⠀
I gave this ⭐️ ⭐️/5 Stars and I’m scared I’m about to be butchered for it. ⠀
📚
Also if you’ve posted a review on this book let me know and I’ll feature your review in my story with my #bookreviewblast I’m starting ⠀
💙
I’ve tagged my fellow #harreadpotter group to start and you can look for their reviews as we make our way through this series together.

I bought another edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because I loved it so much. (My paperback copy was not surviving the month long readathon.) I’d forgotten how much I loved this story! I forgotten quite a few details, yet remembered other parts SO vividly. I swear every book in this series is my favorite, but for now I’ll claim that this one is #1. Now I need to rewatch this movie! Is this anyone else’s favorite of the series?

{13/25} “We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.” - Sirius Black *

Clearly not an influencer nor do I know how to pose but I am a reader. This was not my favorite book ( ok my second favorite ) but loved the concept of Dumbledore’s Army. Seeing all the students come together and actually putting what they learned into good use. As for Umbridge, the woman you loved to hate, reminded me of Mrs Tingle from ( duh ) Teaching Mrs. Tingle movie. This book made me chuckle a bit and also sad w/ one of my fav characters dying. *

Do you have a favorite fantasy series or fantasy novel that you love to escape to time and time again? Mine is Harry Potter! Though I’ve also read The Hunger Games several times!

Happy national donut day! Of course I had to celebrate - so I grabbed a vegan chocolate donut from @wholefoods and ate it as soon as this picture was taken. I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic (and I’ve been seeing a bunch of people chat about #harreadpotter) so I decided to download Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone from @audible_com last night and I’m already almost finished! I can’t believe some of the small things I had forgotten from the books and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series via audiobook! #nationaldonutday

✨May Wrap-Up✨

Happy June, fellow readers!! And thank goodness for it, amirite? Just me? 😅 As you MIGHT know, May was a month full of ups and downs for me - it started off with travel under difficult circumstances ☹️, I interviewed for a job 😱, I got the job 😄, I lost a close family member 😔, and I worked my ass off in my last two weeks at the company I’m leaving 🤯. At times, it was busy, it was hard, it was joyous, and it WAS A SLOW READING MONTH. 👏🏻And 👏🏻that’s 👏🏻okay👏🏻
.
How was May for you? What are you most looking forward to in June?

📚The Goldfinch - for a journey full of deeply flawed protagonists, beautiful language, bad choices, and places-as-characters
.
🎧 The Female Persuasion - for a thinker about mentorship, female relationships, and (maybe?) White Lady Feminism
.
🎧 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - for something rock-solid when nothing else is

Hey there book people! 📚👽✨ As you may have noticed, my bookish attentions have recently been turned towards the colorful and fantastical realm of comics. Right now my brain is torn between work and the gasping breaths of the thesis-writing beast. I’m thus far finding comics and graphic novels to be the perfect reading material. They’re easy to pick up and put down, the stories are fun, the colors are a treat for the eyes, and the cadre of lady heroes/characters and writers gets me pumped up for life. As I’m jumping in to this new-to-me territory I’m also trying to cover my bases re “classic” comics. I revisited Archie last week and it didn’t grab me personally (although I’ve moved on to Josie and the Pussycats and I’m liking it so far!). It was cute art though, and there’s some sort of simple pleasure in the consistency of their presence at the grocery store. I don’t have much to say about Archie so here’s a mental note of the other books I have in various stages of progress:
✨ #TheSevenHusbandsOfEvelynHugo (will I ever finish this?!)
✨ The Recipe Club, which I stole from my grandpa and am really enjoying
✨Goblet of Fire for #HarreadPotter (find me shouting to my reflection “DIDJA PUT YER NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIYA?!”
✨The Favorite Sister and Batman Year One are also waiting for me to return to them.
How’s your summer reading?

May Wrap Up!

This month I read a total of 15 books!! Through truthfully, at the time of this posting I still have a few books to finish before the end of the day. My favorites include The Kiss Quotient, You Think It, I’ll Say It, and All We Ever Wanted (not pictured). But really all of these books were great.

Well, there it is. My (re)read of all seven #HarryPotter books is complete. I honestly feel a little empty now that I’ve read them all, though I’m also full of love for this series and everything it represents. And I’m grateful as heck for my girl @mugandnook for starting #harreadpotter and for not kicking me out when I decided to plow through the whole series instead of staying on schedule!

Now, for those of you who’ve read and loved HP, what are your thoughts and feelings on The Cursed Child? Have you read the script? Have you seen the play? Would you recommend it? Let me know! ✨

It took me awhile to get going in May but I am happy with my finished pile! Educated was phenomenal. Simon was so lovable. The Secret Garden made me smile. And I got to re-read my favorite Harry Potter. 💜 I am so looking forward to June reading, especially since Us Against You comes out!

Wizarding Wednesday ⚡️

Did you guys do it? Did you finish GoF? This book is definitely tied for my favorite of the series. I love seeing Harry work through all of the obstacles. There is so much in this book that is not included in the movies including S.P.E.W. and Harry learning all the charms.
-
I think I said it about PoA, but really this book is the turning point of the series. Literally. Nothing is the same in the remaining books, and the intensity is ramped up exponentially.
-
One of my favorite lines is at the end, when Dumbledore is talking to everyone - “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” It is incredibly poignant.
-
What was your favorite part of the book?

My (very delayed) update of the mini-readathon over the weekend with @25infive! I finished As Bright as Heaven, made my way through a little bit of HP on audio during my run, and started The Widows of Malabar Hill! (See, this picture is so deceiving... I really only read about 200 pages all weekend, NOT an entire giant HP plus 2 other books 😂). Weekends tend to be quite busy for me and I actually read less than I do during the week, but seeing all the other readathon posts on here gave me motivation to sit down (or run) with a book, even if it was for 5-10 minutes at a time!

Do you ever bribe yourself with books? I delayed buying this beauty until I did something I really didn’t want to do, and found it made fabulous motivation!! I think I’ll repeat the process with Book 2😆

Well, I’m currently reading 4 books at once and I’ve discovered that is my max. They’re all very different, but something about juggling them all at once is daunting. I didn’t mean to be in the middle of 4 at once, but I forgot about my book club pick and...c’est la vie of a forgetful book clubber. Do you read multiple books at once? Do you set a limit for yourself?

Going green with my books this week.

Since it’s short story month. I decided to pick up Black Swans. I received this copy from @counterpointpress at the LA Times Festival of Books. I like being a book to work just in case I have time/feel like reading and HP & tGoF is just way to bring to carry around.

Happy (Sock) Sunday, friends!

Yesterday, I got a good chunk of reading for #8intwo done. I finished one book (The Glitch) & stayed up late reading and finishing another (The Kiss Quotient). Today I am finally starting Goblet of Fire. I am excited to immerse myself in the fourth year adventures of our favorite trio.

This month has been very busy with travel, events, and very little time to unwind. I picked up Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone in an effort to keep reading but not have to put much energy into it and holy cow, am I loving it.
*
Fun fact: I've never read this book myself. I was young enough when my mom discovered it that she read it to my sister and I before bed each night. *

19 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Two of my all time favorites: The Office and Harry Potter! I mean, who understands the dementors better than Michael Scott?! 🤣 It’s been so fun to re-read this series while listening to the @hpsacredtext podcast. They bring even more depth to a text that already means so much to me as a reader. #janellereads2018 .

I'm still playing catch-up with my posts for #harreadpotter 😬 We read The Prisoner of Azkaban in March and I got to read my illustrated copy for the first time, which was a complete joy. This was the first book I ever read whose story I got totally lost in, and for that it has always been a favourite. This time I enjoyed the way the wizarding world is opened up to us for the first time, and in a more adult way. The power begins to shift a bit too: the children get the Marauders Map and the time-turner (giving them full access to the school and control over events for the first time) and the adults become more fallible (Black gets into the castle and the Gryffindor common room despite the teachers and dementors being on guard, Buckbeak's trial is a total sham because the Ministry officials have all been compromised and Snape totally loses all reason towards the end). Remembering the story so well meant it was the least surprising or revelatory of my re-reads so far, but still a lovely journey. I had forgotten how irritating Fudge was though... Working on number four for the end of May now!

I finished this last night. Even though I knew what was coming, I still cried...and cried...and cried. I’m keeping this very #spoilerfree for my #harreadpotter pals who are new to the series, but if you know, you know.

Now I just have to decide whether I want to go ahead and re-read The Deathly Hallows now, or if I’d be better off reading something that either won’t break my heart, or that will but without warning so I won’t have to worry about it 🙃

These illustrated editions of HP are even more beautiful than I could have hoped for! I am currently re-reading the series with the #harreadpotter crowd (thanks to @mugandnook) and enjoying every minute of it. This time around I'm listening to the whole thing on @audible_ca and it's SO GOOD!! I swear that listening to Jim Dale's narration is better than watching a movie. I just finished the Goblet of Fire, and I'm so excited to get to the last 3 books because, unlike the first four, I've only ever read them once - which was about a million years ago when they first came out, so I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of the details and it'll be very much like reading them for the first time again. 😁 .

#kidlitchangedmylife When I picked up the first Harry Potter. I was a reader from the first time I held a book, but JK Rowling provided my first true immersive experience in another world. I saw a quote from @emmawatson the other day that said, “Hermione gave me permission to be myself,” and I couldn’t agree more. I’m finishing up The Goblet of Fire this week for #harreadpotter and picking it up feels like visiting with old friends. These pages are worn from countless re-reads, but I don’t think I’ll ever feel like this story is finished.

Good evening! I’m starting Goblet of Fire for my #harreadpotter group read and of course I’m starting late because how else do you read when trying to meet a deadline? 😂 Isn’t this @tervis tumbler just amazing? 😍

What are your evening routines?

90% of the time, I pass out with my light on and book open or I’ll be mid phone scroll BECAUSE IM WILD LIKE THAT, OKAY? 😂 I once fell asleep with goldfish crackers in my bed and when I woke up there were fish grease marks on my sheets. My routines aren’t very healthy. 😂

Wizarding Wednesday ✨

Happy Hump Day, friends. I go back to work today after 4 days off and I am not ready. Thankfully (I think) we have a Mother’s Day Event for our clients. It will be busy, but it won’t be a normal work day at least.
-
Brought back some HP related toys - the time turner & Hedwig - from when I was home. As I tried putting everything away, I see that I’m starting to run out of space on my HP shelf for all the fun things. I supposed I another shelf reorganization is in order.

So, what magical item would you want from the books/movies?

“I didn’t think of Voldemort,” said Harry honestly. “I – I remembered those dementors.”
“I see,” said Lupin thoughtfully. “Well, well ... I’m impressed.” He smiled slightly at the look of surprise on Harry’s face. “That suggests that what you fear most of all is – fear. Very wise, Harry.”

She’s no Crookshanks, but she’ll do 😉😻 I started the next #harreadpotter book a month early (oops). I wouldn’t be surprised if the next two books I read after this one are the final two in the series. When I like something, I REALLY like it.

side note: the top right corner of the cover is a little bent and I distinctly remember it getting a bit beat up when I moved, though it’s also very possible that I actually did read this one a long time ago 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most of you know I’m reading Harry Potter for the first time this year (at age 31) with my buds in #harreadpotter. I have to admit so far I’ve liked the books, but I haven’t totally loved them, if I’m really being honest. There were times in each book where I felt like I had to push myself to keep reading. That was not the case in Goblet of Fire. HOLY SMOKES!
.
Ok, so y’all did not prepare me for this book. I’m coasting along in books 1-3 with my butterbeer and my unicorns AND THEN THIS. I could not put this book down, and I was absolutely crushed at the end, wiping my tears on my sleeve, just basically emotionally wrecked. It was soooooooooo good. Wow. Blew the other books out of the water. The first 3 do not EVEN COMPARE to this one in my opinion. Oh man. I’m going to have to recover from this. Now I totally get the Harry Potter fandom, and I. AM. HERE. FOR. THE. FINAL. THREE. BOOKS.
.
I can’t wait to discuss this one with the groups at the end of the month. Who else loved Goblet of Fire?

I’m officially down with grad school! 🎉 Mostly excited because this means I can read a ton again. I’ve been trying to pick up other books, but am dying to break into this, so, I am giving in. What are all of you reading right now?

My plans this weekend include A LOT OF READING! Yesterday I started Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for #harreadpotter and I’m both reading and listening to the audiobook. Several of you recommended the audiobook, and you were so right!!!! It’s the best audiobook I’ve ever heard. Truly. Jim Dale is so talented - I wish he was my father and could read me bedtime stories before I went to sleep. 😴 I’m also reading Children of Blood and Bone - both of these are due back at the library, so I hope to make some major headway this weekend. If your plans this weekend are to read, tell me what you’re reading! 📚📖

INTRO: Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking around bookstagram for about a year now and decided it’s time for me to start my own! ✨
My name is Molly, I live in the PNW, and reading is my ~passion~. Just kidding. But really, I work in retail management and reading helps me settle down after being filled with anxieties all day at work. And anyway my passion is pinball. ✨
I’m not sure what I’ll be using this space for exactly— heck, I’m still not entirely sure what my star rating system looks like— but I want to be more consistent in my reading habits and I think this account will keep me... accountable! ✨
Anyway, here’s a pic of part of my face at my favorite cafe reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for the millionth time for #harreadpotter

I think I want to start a new goal (because I love starting new goals, but I’m terrible about following through with them) of reading one longer book per over the course of every month. My thinking is that this will give me motivation to start longer books I’ve been avoiding. This month’s book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, even though I was supposed to start it last month but... #procrastination. Haha Do you have any goals to read longer books this year?

book four of #harreadpotter: complete. 5/5 ⭐️ and WAY better than the movie. There’s convincing evidence that I read half of this one when I was a kid (I used to dog ear pages), but the second half was full of details and surprises that I didn’t expect yet totally loved. I’m trying not crack open the fifth right away (hello, binge reading habits 👋🏻), but we’ll see...

What is your favorite Harry Potter book? After another year of still re-reading for the umpteenth time it has become difficult for me to choose a favorite. I can’t choose because I’ve just enjoyed how Rowling wrote this series. Now I just need to re-read Fantastic Beasts & Cursed Child for the first time (only read them once) and then finally read the kindle short stories I got last year.
.
The 6th and 7th book are the toughest re-reads for me. The Deathly Hallows is really an awesome ending to the whole Harry vs Voldemort battle. Very heartbreaking for so many characters and then just great with how many other characters really shined in this book.

Happy Wednesday, everybody! I feel like this week is moving long nicely, but it was so hard to get out of bed this morning. I wasn’t even tired, but the bed and blankets were just so comfortable! It’s been extra-spacious lately because my boyfriend’s been sleeping on the couch with our poor puppy so that she can’t jump down from any high places, like the bed. He’s a good dog dad. ❤️🐶❤️
I finished The Goblet of Fire yesterday, thus continuing my#harreadpotter saga. There are MANY things about the fourth book that differ from the fourth movie. The Society for the Protection of Elfish Welfare doesn’t exist, which seems to be the most glaring and widely-discussed. But there are also so many differences in the massive plot to get Harry into the Triwizard Tournament. Ministry worker/ex-Quidditch player Ludo Bagman exists, Barty Crouch Jr. was assumes to be dead after being sent to Azkaban, Dobby gives Harry the gillyweed instead of Neville, Rita Skeeter is an animagus (I always loved this twist as a kid), and oh my god, the explanatory monologues that Voldemort and Barty Crouch Jr. go on at the end took up so much time. I honestly prefer the details present in the book, but I can see why they changed certain things for the movie, (and a few things, I’ve no idea why they were changed). In any event, reading a different twist on the events I thought I knew and loved was totally cool. It’s really been too long since I read these books.📚📚
What’s your favorite movie adaptation of a book?

I haven’t read the HP books since they were first published because I very rarely read books more than once (too many TBRs sitting on my shelf). I absolutely loved them the first go round but was worried they wouldn’t hold up on a reread. I was so wrong! I just adored this and I’m not sure what I can read after that will be as satisfying. Thanks #harreadpotter for getting me to finally read these again!

Oh, happy May! Things are looking up as we approach the summer months, Northern Hemisphere friends. And today is a whole fresh start for the month! Presenting...my May #tbr! Okay, I know this looks really ambitious and crazy, capping off at 18 books. But more than a few of them are under 300 pages, so I’m really hopeful I can actually get through these! (I’m obsessed with making and maintaining my TBR; I’m a freak, don’t be like me). I’m so excited about this stack of books. I’ve got three rereads happening (hello again, #harreadpotter), a load of newer acquisitions, and a few books that have been on my shelf FOREVER. Making a dent in that #unreadshelfproject2018. 🤞🏻Two books aren’t pictured because I forgot one (The Hobbit) and the other (A Conjuring of Light) is in the mysterious shipping atmosphere at the moment. What are you reading this month? What are you most looking forward to?

Good day! Our Harry Potter collection is so unorganized and not complete. 😂 I haven’t even started Goblet of Fire yet for #harreadpotter .
