Red wine, or small amounts of any type of alcohol, are thought to lower heart disease risk. (Higher amounts, more than a drink or two a day, can actually increase risk.) While some say resveratrol (a polyphenol found in red wine) gives the beverage an added benefit, research suggests that any type of alcohol in moderation works.

Red wine can be considered a superfood that provides powerful antioxidants that heal the body at a cellular level, like quercetin and resveratrol.

1% of red wine is vitamins like Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Folate, Choline, Betaine, Lutien, Zeaxanthin, and Vitamins A, B, K, and G.

Another 1% of wine is minerals like sodium, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, fluoride, and selenium.

As with coffee, though, none of these properties are a reason to start drinking alcohol. You can also get resveratrol from non-alcohol sources, like natural peanut butter and grapes.

What if your life has already set you up for who you are meant to serve as a health coach?

Because the truth is, your past usually holds the biggest clues to your target market. I really believe that everybody has been called to be a coach for a reason. And everything in your life to date has been perfectly designed for this moment where you’re ready to become coach.

Your passions and your life so far hold the clues to who you’re meant to serve. We’ve all lived unique lives, and very often teach what we need to learn, or what we’ve already learned.
I have certainly been the target market of both my first AND second coaching businesses! That is why I can speak to them in a way that connects and resonates so deeply. I have been in their shoes, and faced the same challenges and struggles. I know them, because I WAS them. And I’m so passionate about these topics I coach on - because they genuinely excite me and light me up! 💗
If you could choose ONE time from your life so far when you felt maybe that could be your target market, go deeper and think: “Could I actually help that person?” Be honest. If you can’t, you can’t. 🤷‍♀️ But have a think about that person. Make her REAL. Maybe it’s helpful for you to realise that it’s probably someone out who’s also struggling with this issue, just like you were.
I want you to identify with her, feel for her, and let your heart go out to her. Can you help her heal? Can you create the thing she wishes existed?

Rough weekend, but starting the new week off with a solid leg day. 👌 I squatted 155 which is pretty good considering I don't squat nearly as often as I need to. I'm not yet at a place I'm happy with, strength wise, but it's getting there. 🌱
I've decided to think less about "becoming a powerlifter" and more about just becoming as powerful as I can be. I don't want to lift just so I can get a world record. I want to lift so I can beat my *own* records. I want to see what I'm capable of. 👑
Powerlifters: What's your favorite powerlifting/strength building plan/regimen?

🌞Now that it's summer time and outdoor activities are upon us, it is SO important you stay hydrated! 🍶 When you think hydration, you probably think to drink tons of water and/or sports drinks...what happens? You either drink too much and pee all the time OR too little and have cravings, fatigue, and/or decreased performance. Why? Because you're missing key electrolytes (aka minerals). While there are some key electrolytes in those sports drinks, there's also...sugar 🚫 (what you don't need and what we get WAY to much of) ☝️INSTEAD drink water OR even better, the "no sugar added Gatorade" (get the recipe from link in profile!) when you're thirsty!! Also, ensure each meal has a focus on fluids and electrolytes coming from the fruits, veggies, and healthy fats you eat. GLOOOOTS 🍑 I love training glutes and these bands make it easy to train without a full gym. When I workout during lunch, I sometimes don’t have access to lots of equipment (depending on which gym I go to) so I make those my glute sessions and can definitely get A LOT of burnin’ in 🔥 during that hour. .

Chocolate cravings are non-negotiable especially on a Monday 🍫
~
Ingredients: There are 3 of them! 🥥coconut oil 🥜 pistachios (salted or un-salted) 😋1 bar of chocolate ~
Directions: • coat muffin pan (I used mini muffin size) with coconut oil
• place pistachios in pan • melt chocolate of your choice (I used @montezumaschocs absolute black but also recommend @hukitchen) • pour melted chocolate in pan to cover pistachios • place pan in fridge for 30+ minutes • pop out with fork and enjoy!

“You look so skinny!” I saw this phrase used in a comment on social media several times this past week and each time it made me cringe even harder. 😣 Every time it was used as a compliment, and I’m sure the people saying it only meant it in a genuinely good way. But as a trainer, I know how harmful this simple “compliment” can be.⁣

At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S. More than 5 million people in the U.S. suffer from body dysmorphia. A recent study said that by age 8 most girls feel like they should start dieting. 🤯 😭These stats are horrifying. Skinny does not equal healthy, and having skinny as a goal can lead to major problems. ⁣

I am ALL ABOUT giving out compliments on social media - especially on someone’s selfies! I LOVE anytime someone feels good about themselves and posts it to share! 😍 And I also want us to be that cheerleader for the one posting just hoping someone will like it. But let’s be mindful of the words we use to give that compliment. We never know what someone is struggling with, and making skinny the focus causes damage.⁣

Let’s all go post a genuine compliment on someone’s photo right now! ❤️

Woke up this am with no motivation to get a work out in today! I finally found enough to get started but I was a little short on time so this is a quick intense push-up circuit👊

I did 2 rounds of this circuit anywhere from 15-20 reps on each movement💪

Push-up Circuit:
1. Incline
2. Decline
3. Wide grip
4. Power
5. One hand on medicine ball (switch hands at 8-10 reps)
6. One hand lower than the other (switch at 8-10 reps)

I finished with 2 sets of core, I did a superset with the ab rollout wheel and leg raises😏

Often people think in order to dance you need to learn how to 🤓

I meet people from time to time who feel embarrassed or ashamed to dance freely because they believe you need to look, organized, structured, coordinated, choreographed and refined. 👀

It’s interesting to me because in one way, yes, I see dance like a musical instrument for ones body and naturally in the same way you one would master and play guitar, piano etc, there is a technical mastery to be learned, integrated and uniquely expressed. It’s challenging and fun with a great opportunity to discover, learn and develop new path ways of artistry and expression which is why I have recently embarked on a professional dance journey.💪🏼

However in another way, I see dance as a form of wild raw playful spontaneity that seduces ones soul and does not need or require the mind’s knowledge and mastery. 🙌🏼 Kind of like making love, ya know? 😉
.
Sometimes its fun and even necessary to splash your body like paint all over the place and feel the beats pulsing through your body however tacky, crazy, nonsensical and bad it may seem to some. 😝
.
So yesterday as many you witnessed on my insta stories, I heard a new song my body enjoyed. When I arrived home I let loose as I usually do daily with music and allowed myself to be freely seduced.💃🏻 .
Sooo much fun to the point I felt inspired to share it with y’all especially for those of you who may be feeling confined or limited from dancing cause you may feel like it’s something you need to learn and be “good” at in order to feel and express the musical beats that invite to move through your body and soul 🎶

Check out my deadlift form here. I’ve been working on it a lot to improve my own lift of course but to also be able to show others a perfect example. Still not perfect reps for sure, my hips tend to shoot up too much, this was the worst on my first rep. Here’s a rep-out I did at 315 lb on deadlift after my regular sets. I’m gonna continue putting amraps (as many reps as possible) in my workouts after my working sets to torch my muscles a little more. Need to make sure my training intensity stays high it’s time to grow 💪🏻 muscles need volume in terms of reps and in terms of food (of course don’t overdo it, dm me if you’re not sure whether you’re eating/training enough or too much) I’ve gotten greedy in the past in my workouts trying to put on more weight and sacrificing too much workout volume and quality explosive reps for slow moving low volume reps. Decided I could use some explosive work so I did something I haven’t done in a while, sprint starts. I didn’t go to a track or an even field because I wasn’t worried about timing myself. Just wanted to practice these to help me generate force faster, and force generated faster = more power 💪🏻 Great way to improve explosiveness as well as burn a few calories. Well guys, it’s been an awesome run, but my deadlift pr streak finally ended today. Tried 485 twice and barely got it to budge. Even though I thought I’d be disappointed when this day came I’m actually not because I know exactly why I didn’t pr today (I’ll post a video tomorrow or Sunday explaining why *hint there’s already technically a video of mine that I posted showing what I did wrong that made me not pr in deadlift today) and also I still had a great workout, power cleans for sets of 3 at 225 lbs felt good and I haven’t been able to do that since well over a year ago. Form of course isn’t perfect but it’s not bad, the explosive power built in my posterior chain should help with my squat and deadlift. Here’s a fun agility stair drill that you can do almost anywhere with stairs or on ladders as well. I call them life steps because it’s always two steps forward and one step back.
