If there is one thing I've learnt, it's to get back up and try again no matter what the set back. Being ok as opposed to feeling shit about thing's you can't control. It is what it is, so let it be and pick up where you left.. Simple 💪🖖 God it feels good to be back!!! Strength is down but nice to feel the strain of pushing through and pullying faces. Bopping your head to the music before you hit again... Heavy for 6 at 10sec rest , mediums for 12 for 10sec rest and lighter for 25s for 2min rest followed by drop sets.. Tonight was Chest and back🏋️️‍♀️🏋️️‍♀️🏋️️‍♀️🏋️️‍♀️.. .

I am a tea/coffee drinker, but one of the main reasons I love tea is because of its health benefits. Chamomile tea is one of my favorites, it has tons of antioxidants, which has been proved to lower the risk of a lot of diseases including hearth disease and cancer. It also helps my gut. Sometimes when I get an upset stomach I drink chamomile tea and the discomfort goes away. When I remember to drink chamomile tea at night I feel I have a much better sleep. I know there is a lot more beneficial aspects about chamomile, but I just wanted to share some of the ones that I have experienced. Also, after so many days of rain, I was finally able to come outside and noticed my chamomile plant is sprouting and looks very cute! Hope you all are having a good weekend!

Know your Fat
For years, fat was a four-letter word. We were told it was deadly and that we should eliminate it from our diets whenever possible. We switched to low-fat foods, which can be even worse as “fat free, low fat” usually are loaded with chemicals! Fat started to get negative press back in the 70’s, when the sugar industry paid for studies to be done to show that sugar was good and fat was bad. Going without fat didn't make us healthier, again I’ll say we are a living in a a very educated day and age where information and technology is right at our finger tips, yet somehow we are sicker that we were 30/40 years ago.
So fat isn’t bad? Yes and no, it depends on the fat. Your body actually needs some fat from food, like olive oil, nuts, avocados and cold-water fish, such as salmon and tuna. It's a major source of energy. It helps you absorb some vitamins and minerals. Fat is needed to build cell membranes, the vital exterior of each cell, and the sheaths surrounding nerves. It is essential for blood clotting, muscle movement, and inflammation. For long-term health, some fats are better than others. Good fats include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (omegas). Bad ones include industrial-made trans fats and saturated fats. Eating foods rich in trans fats increases the amount of harmful LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream and reduces the amount of beneficial HDL cholesterol. Trans fats create inflammation, which is linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. They contribute to insulin resistance, which increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Saturated fats are common in today’s modern diet,as they are found in; red meat, dairy foods and many commercially prepared baked goods and other processed foods. Bottoms UP is something that must be definitely UP on your workout list for many reasons.... 1. Corrects the movement patterns and technique so if you dont have a sound technique the attempt fails

2. Increases centration, forces you to stabilize the scapula

3. Eliminates energy leaks as it forces you to stay tight and maximize the use of muscle units

4. Increases mental focus

5. Don't be mistaken even if you can only use half the weight of what you usually use for the squats still it leads to hypertrophy.

Don't do it at home ,😉try it at the gym. You can use metal plates instead of kettlebells as well. Variations like shoulder presses, chest press , loaded carries can be done.

The journey.... Continues.... Another piece of wild and wacky Wednesday. Get sweaty everyone! 🏋️@dmcwill3 put together a sweaty challenge tonight. Always get your warm-up in or take a penalty (50 burpees). I Received the penalty and finishes warmup 🤪 then 315 Deadlift (not a max) on last EMOM. Power clean and run was exhausting. Crushed that bike of 15 Cal's in 11 secs. 💯 Still had some left in the tank to complete a 185 front and back squat cycle 4x(2/4). Energy, keep pushing.

This week is mental health awareness week! Not many people know this about me but I have suffered from mental health issues for years. I was diagnosed years ago after a mental breakdown. For me fitness is not just about a healthy body but it’s also about a healthy mind, same with my personal training. I don’t just try and train the body but I am here for anyone who needs to speak about any problems they might have. Do you invest proactively in your own health?
I used to be the picture of unhealthy. Back in my 20’s it was not uncommon to see me with some McDonalds, cigarettes, and way too much alcohol. When I was around 21 I weighed upwards of 160lbs due to lifestyle choices. I know that doesn’t sound like a ton of extra weight, but it was actually close to what I weighed when I was full term pregnant with Ellie. It wasn’t about just the weight though. I felt awful about myself because I was so unhealthy, which then it turn just fuels more unhealthy choices. I lost all of the weight by working out and eating fairly well, but most of the other lifestyle changes didn’t happen for a long time after.
It really wasn’t until I decided that I wanted to be a Mom that things started to shift for me. I began taking a more proactive approach to my health because I wanted to be the best Mom that I could be, but also because I wanted to be around for my kids.
We live in a time period where people are having kids later, where we hear things like 50 is the new 30, but there also seems to be this common assumption that our health is meant to slowly decline. That it’s normal to have to go on prescriptions at a certain age. I used to be on daily meds for both anxiety and high blood pressure. I was never given a reason as to why my blood pressure was so high, but I know it was largely due to my lifestyle choices.
There’s a saying that goes invest in your health now, or pay for your sickness tomorrow, and it’s so incredibly true! By being active, eating well, reducing the toxins in our environment, supplementing, drinking lots of water, managing our stress etc, we are proactively investing in ourselves.
I’m 38 and have two little kids. There are no guarantees in life, but the one thing I can be damn sure of is that I’m going to invest in any way possible to keep myself healthy and fit so that I can be around to see and experience everything with them AND so that they learn to care for themselves too.
