Zucchini #fries are so 2017. Say hello to your new addiction: #asparagus fries. So golden, crispy and delicious that they’ll even win your kids over! Pair them with your favorite dipping sauce or #ketchup (mine’s the spicy kind!) and enjoy the crunch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you want to recreate this at home, here’s what you’ll need:
1. Asparagus.
2. Flour, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, and smoked paprika (mix these together in a bowl or container).
3. One egg (whisked).
4. Breadcrumbs mixed with grated parmesan cheese.
5. Vegetable oil or olive oil.

Directions: Preheat your oven to 410 degrees Fahrenheit (210 Celsius). Take your baking pan and coat it with the oil. Next take an asparagus spear and dip it in the flour mixture, then the egg and finally the breadcrumb-parmesan mixture. Place it on the baking pan. Repeat this process until you’ve covered all of your asparagus. Bake for approximately 10 minutes.

My mouth is the only part of my body smiling in this moment, but I love the challenge. It doesn’t matter what your fitness level, it’s really about having a measurable goal and trying to keep improving bit by bit. Today mine was to run everything but the steepest set of stairs, but what really seems to matter for me is 1. I need to have a goal while working out 2. Making it realistic 3. Pushing outside of my comfort zone a little 4. Having some accountability (that’s where you guys come in) 5. Looking after my body later (stretching, some better nutrition...will let you know how I go). That way it helps me feel like I’ve accomplished something that really contributes to my health and well-being.
My goal for for this post is that at least one person following will find a hill or a set of stairs they can climb...or if all else fails a place to do 100 air squats. Comment below and if that’s you! 🙏🏻👍🏻😓12:55

Today I ate 😋🍦😱 because I have to eat to survive, to live, to breathe, and because I LOVE FOOD 🙌🏻❤️ and because I truly love myself 👏🏻💞

In the past two weeks I’ve gotten 22 DMs pertaining to the binge-restrict cycle 😱 22 people feel shame & guilt around eating so bad, that they turned to help 😥

I’ve been where they are, and maybe where you are 😅 restricting all day, to make up for binging, or overeating, at night or all weekend, and then the cycle continues 😥

What I’ve learned is that the way we stop the binge restrict cycle, is by stopping the restrict part 🙌🏻

Allow yourself unconditional permission to eat, and see what happens 😅 you may overeat for a few days, maybe even a week, or if you’re like me, a month, but then it will settle down... slowly, but surely, your eating will normalize 🙌🏻

It sounds so simple, but it’s not, it takes a lot of mental strength & self-compassion, but if you’re over the cycle of shame & guilt, I highly recommend ending the restriction 🙅🏼‍♀️

It's been a few days without posting... Some thing is weighing on me about posting photos of just a pose or a stretch. Yes the caption is where my voice is heard but going through one of those times where it just seems silly to post things. Who really cares? Why post? I do want to share truth when I speak and thankful to have a worldwide platform at my fingertips but again the photo is what gets the attention. How many of you really read the captions? In light of a tragedy this weekend I haven't been able to bring myself to post the regular run of the mill yoga photo or food photo or really anything. Today I am thankful for every breath we get to take. Thankful for the opportunity it affords to share truth and by truth I mean the gospel of Jesus Christ. Moments like these make you realize the brevity of life and also the urgency of the message. Looking to be used by God for His purposes while here on this earth and to proclaim him boldly. This is my family that I have been blessed with. A strong husband who loves the Lord and three blessings to raise in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. I didn't get Mother's Day photo with my kids because well because I never do lol. But here is the most recent of all of us the beginning of this year. Hug your spouse, parents, kids, friends, loved ones a little tighter this evening. Life truly is short. But eternity is forever. We are all eternal souls... Where is your soul headed for eternity?

Do you sometimes crave something cold when it is cloudy or raining? I do🤣
A banana split is a delicious treat. While there are different variations, I made myself the "traditional" one.🍌🍧🍌 If you want to try something different, you could make a healthier banana split with frozen yogurt instead. You can also try a banana split parfait or even a banana split milkshake! 🍓🍌🍫

Think about it. We start feeling like crap all the time, our body is going to find a way to make life work still.

It’s not gonna be happy but it will make keep us alive.

That then becomes our norm.

Always tired, always dragging, always way too hungry or way too full, dealing with some type of pain, a little foggy in the head, just wondering when we can go back to sleep.

That was my norm.

For a while there i honestly didn’t even know what it felt like to wake us without at least some sort of hangover lol
-
Maybe from the night before or just lingering from the weekend.
-
But we never realize these things in the moment because how could we?
-
How could we take a second to think about any of it when we’re struggling to even make it through our day?
-
When I’m over here bouncing from microwave corn dogs to Digiorno pizza, napping in my car, it’s hard to have any sort of productive thoughts lol
-
That’s why I’m all about the #easywins because we can muster up the energy to make ONE small change.

And when you do, you start to notice that difference.

You start to feel a little better.
-
Then you just want more.
-
And eventually you look back and wonder how you ever lived without feeling this good!

Felt good to get back in the gym today! I always try to make it a priority to get in a good sweat after a fun vacation or longer break than normal. It feels good to get moving and get my heart rate up. That being said, I just did a normal workout. I didn’t do some long ass WOD or 2-a-days to punish myself for what I ate/drank this weekend. It doesn’t work that way. Same goes with food. Just get back to your normal eating habits. This didn’t used to be the case, but after many years of binging and restricting, I’ve come to realize that is no way to treat your body. It’s not always easy and I still struggle here and there, but I’m a work in progress, just like everyone else. What is one of you fav ways to get moving after a vacation?

Meditation May Lead to Volume Changes in Key Areas of the Brain

In 2011, Sara Lazar and her team at Harvard found that mindfulness meditation can actually change the structure of the brain: Eight weeks of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was found to increase cortical thickness in the hippocampus, which governs learning and memory, and in certain areas of the brain that play roles in emotion regulation and self-referential processing. There were also decreases in brain cell volume in the amygdala, which is responsible for fear, anxiety, and stress – and these changes matched the participants’ self-reports of their stress levels, indicating that meditation not only changes the brain, but it changes our subjective perception and feelings as well. In fact, a follow-up study by Lazar’s team found that after meditation training, changes in brain areas linked to mood and arousal were also linked to improvements in how participants said they felt — i.e., their psychological well-being.
