I’m not even that obsessed with photography in general. But I like to explore motherhood through the lens of my camera. Becoming a mother, raising children, having a family. In fact, most of my time these days revolves around motherhood. At home, I raise my kiddo through inner struggles, adjustments and a love that is so endless it still amazes me. At work, I shoot and share my stories and those of my clients, slowly weaving our motherhood journey together. Like it should be.⠀

I think for me is all about being able to tell your story. It doesn’t mean you need to write a book or post on social media if that’s not your thing. It means that when your kids are all grown up and ask what life was like in those early years, you’ll have something real to show them. Your home, their little bodies, the tears, the feedings and the diaper changes; but most importantly, their mother who loved and cared for them through sleepless nights, even before they were even born. 🌿#mindfulmotherhood #tellyourstorywithphotos

🙌🏽 can I get an AMEN? I’m still trying to find balance between being a mom and keeping my own identity. It’s way too easy to get caught up in a child always needing you and forget to take care of yourself. It’s easy to lose sight of things I like to do because I don’t have as much freedom to do them.

But if I’ve learned anything from the journey to heal my relationship with myself, it’s that no matter what I have to come first. And maybe to some that sounds selfish but if I don’t make my mental health a priority I can’t be the mom I want to be.

How beneficial is zinc during pregnancy...? Well, surprisingly not much is know about zinc and it’s benefits during pregnancy. But one thing is know for sure... zinc supplementation during pregnancy significantly reduced the risk of preterm births. A meta-analysis published in 2009 found a 14% reduction in premature delivery among zinc supplemented women. Zinc is needed to catalyse many enzymatic functions within the body, but it is probably known best for its role in the formation of healthy skin and connective tissue. Although it hasn’t been scientifically proven... zinc (along with vitamin c) is speculated to be a key nutrient in the prevention of stretch marks. Zinc is also needed for proper growth and development, immune cell function, appetite, metabolism, sense of smell and taste, and hormone production, so much so that deficiency may lead to infertility in both men and women. Zinc can be found in most pregnancy multivitamins, but try to get your levels up before conception by eating foods such as seafood, grass fed lamb, beef, pork and other meats, hemp seeds, pepitas, beans, lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms, cashews, pine nuts, peanuts, almonds, cheese and cacao 🌿

🌿 I received a delivery of new essential oils today. After I collected M from nursery we sat and inhaled them all. M said she loved the Cedarwood and Vetiver oils. ❤️ I actually bought Vetiver for its sleep inducing qualities with the hope it might help M to relax at night. Sometimes I go into this rut.
One where there is endless negative self talk. At first, I would not understand why if everything is really good.🤷🏻‍♀️

I started to realize it was because I was comparing myself to others on social media🤦🏻‍♀️...yea I know how silly? But the real silly thing is that everyone does it.

I think we forget that most of what people post is their highlight reel. All of the good things going on in their lives that they want to show off. Being real and raw on social media is hard, especially when there is so many people who love to put people down and just be negative. .
I’ve learned to recognize the triggers of when I start to feel this way. So if you too compare yourself to people on social media. Just know that it’s not always what it seems and that they’re not sharing the whole truth!

I am not a nutritionist, botanist or scientist. As a matter of fact I dropped out of chemistry in college, didn’t get it and hated the homework. But I do like simple things and the fact is cells are the building blocks of life, our bodies are made of trillions of them, and plants, fruits, and vegetables are the best energy for them so we should always strive to eat them as much as possible. А еще, как только начинает смеркаться, организм вырабатывает гормон мелатонин, регулирующий биоритмы организма. Это, как мы помним, природный поглотитель свободных радикалов, защищающий кожу от преждевременного старения, а организм – от стрессов. Максимальное количество гормонов вырабатывается к полуночи, а после четырех утра резко падает.
То, как ты будешь выглядеть утром, во многом зависит от того, как ты ухаживала за кожей вечером. Вот 4 простых совета:
💎Постарайся выработать в себе привычку: вернулась вечером домой, пошла мыть руки – и сразу же очистила лицо. 💎Ночные средства ухода наноси до полуночи (в идеале с 22.00 до 23.00), чтобы действие продукта приходилось на период активной выработки мелатонина. 💎Тщательно подбирай ночные продукты ухода – во время сна кожа очищена, мышцы лица расслаблены, и средства легче проникают в глубокие слои. Откажись от использования кремов, лишь имитирующих увлажнение (такие содержат пленкообразующие компоненты – ланолин, парафин, вазелин и воски). 💎Большинство людей спят на боку или лицом вниз.

Last night we had Greek turkey meatballs tho (recipe courtesy of @skinnytaste 💚) and the kids were calling out for them in their lunchboxes. 😍

My kids were stuck on a bus in traffic yesterday for 40 extra minutes because of the rain and were absolutely famished when they got home. 🤪 The weather calls for sunny skies today but admittedly I’m a ‘just in case’ mama, so today’s lunches are big and filling. •

Broccoli Pizza
Makes 4 servings
Per serving
1/3 protein serving
3 vegetable servings
3 condiments • Broccoli Crust:
• 4 ½ cups broccoli, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 4 egg whites
• 3/4 cup shredded part skim mozzarella – feta is too high in sodium
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
• 1 tsp. garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
• 1/2 tsp. onion powder
• Topping:
• 1/2 cup no sugar added marinara sauce such as Rao’s
• 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/4 cup sliced onion
• 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms • 1/4 cup sliced red, yellow and green bell peppers
For the crust:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large pot bring water to a boil, add the 1 Tbs. salt Cook broccoli until crisp tender, about 2 minutes.
Drain and dry the broccoli with a clean kitchen towel. Pulse/ blend the broccoli in food processor. Use a clean dry kitchen towel to squeeze out excess water. In a large bowl place the broccoli, egg whites,cheese and spices and mix together.
Place mixture onto a parchment lined baking sheet, in the shape of a crust.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until crust is lightly browned. Remove from the oven. Let the pizza cool outside of the oven for 15 minutes.
For the topping:
Top the pizza with the marinara sauce, the vegetables and the mozzarella cheese.
Place the pizza back into the hot oven.
