Feel good Friday - let’s talk about confidence, shall we? .
Here’s the definition: a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities.
I’ll freely admit that confidence is something that I have struggled with for most of my life. Not so much regarding my abilities but definitely my “qualities.” Specifically physical.
My grandmother called me “big boned” and “healthy.” I’ve always been strong but I’ve never been “fit.” For most of my adult life I gained and lost the same ten pounds over and over and over. After my first two babies I found myself caught in a downward spiral of self loss and exhaustion and overwhelm that triggered emotional eating, excess drinking, and of course then depression. I was carrying a lot of extra weight, mentally and physically. I had zero confidence. I was stuck and numb and unmotivated. It was a really hard time. .
After my daughter was born a few years ago I vowed to keep myself away from that all too familiar spiral. When I started to feel the pull, I did what I knew was the only thing that would interrupt the familiar path. SOMETHING DIFFERENT. .
And just like that I found my confidence again. Two years later I’m still very much a work in progress. But because I’ve consistently made my wellness a priority, I’m a better mother, a happier healthier human, a better partner, friend, worker, artist. .
You don’t have to look like a bathing suit model to feel confident. It’s a feeling that arises from within and is fueled by attention to your heart and your mind and your body. And they are all connected! .
How do you feel? Do you appreciate your body, your mind, your abilities? How are your energy and moods? Do you feel beautiful in your clothes? Do you look in the mirror, or at pictures, and love what you see? .
I want that for you. I want you to radiate confidence. I want you to feel really good.
And I have the tools that can help you get there. .
I’m registering new challengers now in my comprehensive virtual wellness group. Prep starts next week and we begin April 1. .
