Tired mamas of the world, UNITE! See this face with the mom-bun attached to it? This is the face of a no-longer-tired mama! (Ok that’s not a real thing but it is a much less stressed and happier mama!)
See that tank behind me? I just got out of it! I laid in it for 90 minutes with the top closed. No, it isn’t like a coffin. No, I don’t feel claustrophobic. YES, I can fully relax—though that took practice—to the point that I fall asleep! (Answering all of the things I was terrified of before I used it for the first time!).
I’ve been going non-stop for weeks. I thrive on doing. But at some point my body and mind can’t take it anymore. I have to work hard to relax. I’m really bad at making time for it. Enter: my husband, who last week told me he had booked a float for me and he was taking the kids and I wasn’t allowed to argue #hesakeeper •
So I floated. I relaxed. I slept. And I stepped out of that tank a totally new person, ready to bring my best-self back to world!
We are meant to be our best selves every day. But, tired mamas, it is hard when you pour everything out to everyone else. Make sure you take time to recharge. What does your favorite self-care routine look like?
