Passage Through Time
The rock formations, scrub brush, cactus, and gnarled pinion pine and juniper trees of the Southwest United States invoke the spirit of the prehistoric continent that we call North America more so than nearly anywhere else.
There are vast expanses of scant population, and even in tourist areas like Sedona, the nature takes precedence. When I looked at this image in color, it was nice, but when I converted it to monochrome, that spirit was drawn out for me.
