I have spent a lot of my life working hard to fit in. I would pretend I was someone I wasn’t, or hide behind someone else, make excuses for why I was doing this, and sometimes even believe them myself. I got so entrenched in doing this, that I never realized that these contortions were actually preventing me from feeling the inclusiveness I already had. .
I ALREADY BELONG. .
First of all, I belong to myself. And I belong to my family. To our whole human family. There will always be people here to pour into me, just as there will always be people who never call, no matter how long I stare at the phone. .
I have to thank @ssekodesigns and the community of women I have discovered for revealing this to me over the last few months. I don’t need to bring anything specific to the table to be invited to eat. I am already enough. I can invite myself and people will say YES. I can do cool things because I want to and regardless of what others think. I have a lot to offer and I am good at things and people need me. .
All this to say: you belong. You’re invited. You are enough, and we need you. We are hosting a #shareyourstory event with the CEO of Sseko @lizbohannon. Come, ask questions, GET ANSWERS, and get involved in the community that will change you. Not into someone else, but into the you you already are because that’s all you’ll ever be and what the world needs. Share your story with us this weekend, and hear ours, because with our voices together, there’s nothing we cannot do. comment below and I’ll add you to the group #bettertogether #womenrising #youbelong #youarealreadyenough
