🍁 Vegan red lentil dhal🍁 is one of my favourite dishes. The taste of the curry and coconut cream is so decadent. When I want to cook for friends or family this is a dish is going to impress for sure. Vegans and non vegans have tried it and they all want more, and the recipe of course. You can make it spicier or not depending on your taste. Heres's the recipe:
🌱 Cook in a bit of vegetable broth one minced garlic and onion until they're translucent.A bit of curry paste and mix.
Then add chopped red and green pepper, chopped mushrooms, peas, one chopped carrot and half a diced cougette, until they are cooked through.
🌱Add your rinsed red lentils and mix, add a tin of chopped tomatoes and the same tin with filtered water, and cook for 15 minutes. Then a tin of coconut cream (just the cream) and cook until it's reduced in half and the lentils are cooked through. And it's time to dig in!!
🌵 I normally add cooked buckwheat, cooked brown rice or any other complex cereal you want to add.

Here is a food that can cause depression 👉🏼 Gluten
.
By now almost everyone has heard of gluten, the glue-like protein found in wheat. Grains like barley, rye, and contaminated oatmeal contain proteins that may be recognized by your body as gluten. Gluten and gluten-like proteins are some of the most inflammatory foods you can eat
.
Many people think that gluten doesn’t affect them since they didn’t test positive for Celiac Disease. However, there are often false negatives on these tests because they don’t test for the full range of gluten proteins. Whether or not you have a diagnosed sensitivity to gluten, it isn’t doing you any favors, as it is almost exclusively present in processed foods
.
Gluten drives inflammation by irritating the gut and gut microbes as well as intestinal tissues. This protein causes gut cells to produce a compound called zonulin, leading to intestinal permeability (or leaky gut). Gluten, which is a sticky protein, can also interfere with digestion by clumping together food particles. A recent study showed that gluten caused inflammation in gut cells of healthy volunteers, suggesting that gluten may cause adverse effects that can lead to depression in everyone
.
Gluten consumption has been linked to depression, seizures, headaches, anxiety, nerve damage, and ADHD-like symptoms (8-10). Gluten has been linked to over 200 conditions, with neurotoxicity topping the list

Here’s how to get your old labels off and clean your bottles:⁣⁣

1. Soak bottles in soapy water for 15mins.⁣⁣
2. Place bottle in big pot.⁣⁣
3. Shake baking soda all over your bottles.⁣⁣
4. Cover bottles with water and bring to a boil.⁣⁣
5. Lower temp and simmer for an hour.⁣⁣
6. Drain and place bottles in soapy water.⁣⁣
7. Use a wash cloth to wipe the labels and remaining glue off. Super easy.⁣
8. Rinse and leave out to dry.⁣

This is something I’ve been coming up in my DMs a lot, I also have a client going through it and I used to go through it myself.

There are days in the winter that I feel more tired or a little sad but there are things I do to help it which I truly believe will help you too.✨❄️

1️⃣GET YOUR BODY MOVING.
.
This is a MUST! During the winter it’s easy to want to cozy up by the TV and watch Christmas movies all day (guilty🙋🏻‍♀️) but MOVE YOUR BEAUTIFUL BODY!
.
This honestly gets my energy and mood up right away. I do this multiple times a day one is a workout & every hour I get up blast music and dance💃🏻
.
If your in an office during the day, every hour or so get up from your desk to fill your water up or go to the bathroom just to get some walking in!
.
2️⃣MAKE HEALTH A PRIORITY.
.
During the winter and the holidays is the time most people throw health out the window because “I’ll start in January” but this is the time you need to focus on health the most - especially if you are dealing with seasonal sadness.
.
Make sure you are hydrated, not just with water but by eating tons of fruits and veggies. Continue to take your supplements(there are so many amazing supplements that help with this too!) and drink herbal teas.
.
3️⃣GRATEFUL JOURNAL.
.
Focusing on all the positives in your life as soon as you wake up and before you go to bed will lift your spirits.💕

Journaling to great journal prompts will help you to get your feelings out whiling focusing on the good in life.

🍫Bombones de chocolate, coco y frutos secos sin azúcar🍫
¡Buenas tardes! El martes que viene es mi cumpleaños, pero ayer lo celebré con una muy buena amiga que me preparó esta delicia. Me conoce muy bien y sabe que en temas de gustos, el dulce no es mi fuerte, y creó estos bomboncitos endulzados con dátiles y con un toque de coco.
Le pedí la receta para compartirla con vosotros y así es como la preparó:
🍫 1 tableta de chocolate 85-90%
🍫 2 cucharaditas de aceite de coco
🍫 8 dátiles
🍫 Coco rallado
🍫 Avellanas machacadas
🍫 Fundió el chocolate con el aceite de coco y trituro los dátiles. Lo incorporó todo, añadió avellanas machacadas, les dio forma en una superficie lista para que solidificaran y les puso dátiles por encima.
Realmente están buenísimas. Son blanditas y el sabor a coco les da un toque muy bueno. El dulzor es el justo para mí.

I just hate leaving any remaining bits of oil in the bottle, don’t you? To squeeze the last couple drops out, remove the dropper top, fill bottle halfway with purified water, shake vigorously, and pour into your diffuser. Repeat a couple times juuuuust to make sure you got it allllllll out. Then fill your diffuser the rest of the way with water.

Before I started nutrition school, I wanted to know WHAT I would be doing and HOW I would be doing it.

One of my deepest frustrations was not having a clearly painted picture of my career path.

My interests pulled me in a million different directions and with that came the challenge of NOT having a simple title, scope or practice (I know you can relate).

When I graduated in 2012, I anticipated some serious clarity around my career. I wanted some all-capturing label. Certified Nutritionist didn’t seemed to cut it.

One day someone told me her mom should come see me for nutrition advice. I responded by saying, “I’m a nutritionist but I don’t work with food”. She was stumped and honestly, so was I.

What was I telling people? What was I doing? I knew there was more and I had NO idea how to communicate what my work actually was....

The days when I workout are always more awesome than the days I don't. Why is that? Because when you start your day at the gym, you make your brain happy!
Addictions has left pretty much all of us with Dopamine, Serotonin and GABA regulation issues. It's a big part of why we feel tired, flat, depressed and anxious. Working out, even for 20 minutes, increases our neurotransmitters and makes us feel positive and excited to take on the challenges of the day.
This is a huge, and often overlooked, aspect of a healthy recovery. 🧠💪
