One day, my sister-in-law texted me and asked if I am able to make a ombre cake for one of her photoshoots. I thought, "hey, why not". It sounds like fun and a good challenge. I have not made any ombre cakes to date and this is just the perfect excuse to do one. .
I probably lost count of the rosettes I piped. Piping rosettes is a like a form of handwriting. Every baker has their own "handwriting" and hence the rosettes comes out different. Personally, I prefer to pipe mine in an anit-clockwise direction, starting and ending at about 3 or 4 O' clock. .
One thing I learnt about piping from my previous internship is that when piping, the overall results matter more than the accuracy of every single rosette. Even if two or three rosettes are not accurately piped, just continuing piping. The end result would be fine. .
Am quite satisfied with the outcome. Not perfect but still room for improvement and a very therapeutic session. More importantly, I moved out of my comfort zone a little and went for that little excitement and adventure. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gain! = )
